I've been using a dual wield setup for quite a long time now. Nice to see someone else doing it too. I use chaos blade in the right hand and estoc in the left. The estoc's off hand attack is fairly fast and gives a nice way to apply pressure while still keeping range. It also has a fast parry speed which works well with the high damage of the chaos blade. Fun stuff.

you need a weapon that strikes quickly while wielded in the left hand slot. As Peeve showed us here, the chaos blade works fine. needs to be timed very well however.
Yeah Elite i figured that out a few months ago. I'd always accidentally somehow manage a forward-backflip and it drove me crazy how it happened, then one day i figured it out. I tried mixing it into PvP, forward-backflipping behind people into iaito R2's and such, or throwing them off with a surprise running dash. It throws opponents off, but you really, really have to practice it to make use of it in real scenarios. I'm not sure if it's worth the hassle...but it's damn stylish, that's for sure.
Speaking of informative things, great video man, i was playing around with Dual Katanas after NotebookofEpicness' video inspired me back in March last year, but i was so used to fighting with and against 0 poise that something like this never dawned on me. Nicely done
for a dual wielding class, i had a +15 grass crest shield in my left hand. a +5 gold tracer in my left hand. a +15 katana in my right and a talisman in my right for WOTG, force, emit force, heal worked out pretty well in pvp and pve

True, there still isnt a save editing program for PS3 that is available to the public, but that is not to say that one doesn't exist or that it cannot be done. It merely implies that the gain would not be worth the required effort. It's entirely plausible but it would most likely be done manually with on console/in gamefile editing being a requirement.
Fantastic. Gibas is one of my friends, and i was completely out of cracked orbs. Doing nonstop forest invasions on a dual katana build isn't very fun. Going up against gankers who just charge you while you don't have a shield is rough.

Hey Peeve since you're trying out these dual-wielding setups now, I'd like to see you parry with the likes of curved swords and especially the Parrying Dagger seeing as they're difficult to parry with. I just simply want to see the full potential of these weapons in the hands of a good player.
For shielded enemies, you have to be close too. Also they attack very fast so you probably want a perry dagger or buckler. Medium shields are fine but harder to time
I was wanting to test to see if you could actually manage something like that, but i think 9 times out of 10 you'd just end up riposting anyway. However, i was also wanting to test to see if i could pull off the Dark Silver Tracer R2 pre-riposte. Now that i think about it, i bet you could Dagger R2 someone once or twice before riposting. I got a few things i need to try out.
Peeve. Where is that video/stream where you found out about the backwards roll but forwards? I found about it yesterday but I heard that you had found about it earlier. Also another question: Why don't you use it? It's extremely useful for spacing and mind games, well once you get the technique down at least.

Yeah, but once they see the gold tracer its sort of a signal to just bow/spear poke or play full out agressive because they know you can't block or parry and if you try to switch you'll just leave yourself open. Alternately they aren't even using a weapon and they are a fai/int build ready to just kick ass.

I remember when peeve did that roll thing behind me and did a running attack. That was awesome, the second time he did it i figured it out though and parried him. So remember to not use it often in fights or people will recognize your patrerns.
it's very situational. it's not like i charge right at the enemy, that's a good way to get fished for a backstab and a great way to waste all your stamina i like poisoning with throwing knives and waiting for a heavy attack so i can roll and get a swipe in eventually they bleed out, unless they parry me and yes, i have low poise, but with karmic justice, when they break it, it knocks them back and deals damage it's my Second Chance in Dark Souls and i try to only use WOTG if i get behind someone

2King peeve? Now all you need is a binded set, cracked Talisman of Beasts, Second Chance and Curse Weapon and you'll be fine. You also need a tearing and sharp uchigatana but thats another story.

I've tried it before and the rapier class' LH R1 is too slow to use it and complete the repost, I'm not sure if it's because of extra after-parry frames or if it's just a slow LH R1, but it doesn't seem to work for me :\
Nicolas Oliveira You can use the rapier in the main-hand with a shield in the left hand, then shield poke the enemy before riposting for free damage. Not sure if it works with the Leo Ring though.
Nicolas Oliveira i have done it with the estoc, but i think i will stick with the hornet ring and dark wood grain ring so it is easy to get out of range if i miss the parry with low poise

If someone uses a spear/bow/crossbow/rapier I just switch to shield + talisman and use emit force or WOTG If they come charging at me balls out, i DWGR ninjaflip away, bring my shield out, and just parry/riposte for the easy kill if they tried to turtle, I would use the tracer and katana combo to tear through their poise and bleed out / get a nice combo in I only had trouble against pure mage types also, karmic justice > 2handers
In my experience emit force never hits and WotG just gets you roll backstabbed. Well this is highly situational seeing as you are using dwgr meaning your poise is probably low, and if you screw up the 1st parry a player may just decide to backstab you unless they are a total douchebag. Implies they are trying to greatshield turtle, small shield turtles easily parry mashing. I don't see how pure mages are a problem, but i guess Dark Bead.... You use Karmic Justice?

Katana's are actually the most elegant weapon for the Dex build who wants to balance and differentiate attacks, rolling etc. trying to get an opening. The highest tier of play I've seen curved swords in is when people roll in and begin spamming R1, because the best strategy curved swords have is to become the Darkmoon Blender. The reason you see more elemental and less enchanted katanas is because the avoid-and-poke style tends to make the buff run out before you can kill Vit builds.

Gold Tracer? Yeah, It's nice in the offhand but it can't parry and therefore isn't as effective as other off-hand weapons. Although, If you don't want to parry and have a pure-offense strategy it might work.

Peeve I've tried the pre strike berfore finishing the parry how does this work I tried it on people with obviously high poise.

Almost every build need's Havel's anymore, lol, he probably put on Havel's so he could put more into other stats
