Even groff and David Fincher and everyone who know him said it, that's why it was kinda difficult for him at the beginning to embody the character! And No He's not uninterested here he just so focused on Ben & the interviewer talking,he keep looking at Ben & smile, if he uninterested he won't bother looking at him. Beside he always look like this when he listen to others he get focused he's good listener. Also they probably tired from doing millions interviews in one day
