On the red carpet at the 2022 D23 Expo, the star gushed to Access Hollywood about his close pal's debut performance as Fanny Brice in the Broadway revival of "Funny Girl," sharing, "It was transcendent … she was incredible. It was emotional, I wept through most of it." Jonathan also revealed how Lea felt after her time on stage and detailed how he helped her get ready for the role. Plus, the actor shared if he wants to star in another "Frozen" movie.

I LOVE their friendship! He's so supportive of her. I saw the interview where she said she could hear him crying during the show. It was so cute. Someone took a video of him (with Ryan Murphy, Lea's mom, and Jonathan Gallagher, Jr) during Lea's curtain call, and of course, he's crying. 🤣

I really think she was hesitant to go back into Broadway, but Jonathan, Ryan Murphy, and the rest of her friends from the early days of Broadway in NY encouraged her to come back. I am glad she is back. It's been a long time coming. I like Julie and Beanie as well. People put their hearts out to be there on that stage.
Exactly! And there's more to the stories, like we are supposed she bullied EVERYONE but somehow Cory still fell for her and Darren and Becca are still her close friends. Like Amber and Naya (rip) would just sit and let her treat them badly, they had bigger personality than her and let's not pretend some of them didn't hate that she got all the solos as lead of the show.

Lea's haters are so pathetic. I get if you don't like her because of the stories that have been told, making other people miserable, possibly being racist...That's all valid. But all they seem to concentrate on is that she can't read and she can't sing. First of all, the reading rumor is stupid, but even if it were true, since when did we start making fun of people who can't read? And can't sing? Ha!
