Thanks for this video! I have never carved anything before, this video gave me the confidence to try. I had a walking stick that was cedar and did a morel topper.
Denis I've not idea what kind of stick that is but it's a beautiful finish on it as for that mushroom it looks very reall, well done good tuition and easy going many thanks Keith 👍👍👍
I bet you know its honey locust. If you cut the thorny branches off of it. Or raked up the seed pods off the yard... Locust is a beautiful tree. Nice work Dennis. I like how you epoxied the bark to keep it on. Do you have Osage Orange ( hedge apple) trees near there? Those would make great walking sticks.
Thanks for your question. Here's a link to the epoxy I use: This one comes in 2 - 1-gallon containers and mix 50/50 Table Top Epoxy Resin Superclear 2 Gallon | 256 oz Kit - amzn.to/3wIf4f8 It is also available in 1-gallon kits and comes in 2 - 1/2 gallon containers and mix 50/50

That looks like hickory to me but maybe not. Enjoyed the tutorial and like how that turned out.
I agree, some areas of the bark does look a bit like hickory. I'm sticking with Honey Locust for now. Keep on, keeping on!
