Jodi, I've used your techniques since you first started in Keller! I've also taught your techniques, they are wonderful especially for new quilters because they just have to follow the placement lines for each options! So glad to see you are doing so well Lou DEMott, Burleson, Tx
Brilliant move turning your mat around! Very good demo, looks like I need to save for another ruler. Is it possible to leave a little more than a quarter inch when cutting the square in a square? I like what I’ve heard people call a floating point. Thank you.
With the Square in a Square technique, sewing a scant 1/4" seam is all you need for it to turn out perfect. If you want, sign up for our free Quilting Webinars 2021 - you can watch the first 3 now and we have one each Wednesday. Here is link >> bit.ly/3o6P3N5
Jodie, myself and some other friends from Lubbock will be at the Spring Market Festival in October. Will you be there? I am new to quilting. This will be my first time attending and so excited. I would like to make my own fabric wheel like the one you showed to hang in my sewing room.
mary Gonzalez Yes I will be at Festival in Houston this fall. We don’t have our booth assignment yet but should be able to look is up. We will also post on Facebook and send out email. Please come by. It will be great!
this is a really good tip on cutting strips thank you so much and i do do the 'spider' as when my hand is flat the ruler tends to slip which has made me wonder if i am applying too much pressure?
Was excited at the beginning to see you sitting at the mat.....then POOF! Burst my bubble....you stood up to cut :( Wishing for a good cutting method for sitting. Nice video anyway :)
The basic cutting information was clear and helpful, but then you totally lost me with the triangles and varied placement options. Also, the fixed and far away camera did not clearly show what you were cutting or why. Just a beginner here. Thank you for the general information; it was interesting.
This was an impromptu video made by Studio e fabric company during International Quilt Market; the camera angle isn't perfect as this was a quick demonstration. At the end I was talking a bit about my Square in a Square quilt piecing technique. You can see more videos here and we have many videos on our Facebook page. facebook.com/squareinasquare - thanks for watching!
Good question Cindy. The system is very fabric friendly for several reasons. You can use leftover fabric from other projects, even odd shaped pieces and the system will just cut off what is not needed (these are fabrics that would normally be wasted that can now be used). We use those lots of times in our demonstrations to show how to recycle fabric from other projects. If you do some scrappy projects, you will be able to use up those left over pieces from other quilt projects that you may not normally use. Once you start using the system, you will see what I mean. Plus, the system is fast, accurate and you don't end up with all those unfinished projects (which is the ultimate fabric waste). Have fun, let me know if you have other questions.

رائع .... الكنائس والمساجد فيها نقوش هندسية .... هل استطيع الاستفادة منها ؟
Why are you using such a small rotary cutter?
J Mead She in the video "if I had my bigger cutter" so I'm just guessing she did no have the bigger one with her.
If you are cutting only a couple layers of fabric, many times I will use the smaller rotary cutter. I do have and use several sizes of rotary cutters.

Tutti Mccormick , if you make a cut that is not square to grain then it will be repeated in the next cut and each cut after

Sorry, it looks like that would be difficult unless you can get your cutting table lower around your knees but not sure how safe it is. Be careful.
I have my boyfriend hold down my ruler.

Jodi Barrows ~ doesn't the square in a square system waste quite a bit of fabric?
