My first JSU game in years! Sat behind the Sonic Boom (they’re natural defibrillators) enjoyed good people, met family, and ate loads of good food at the tailgate! Grambling band headed for the buses by the end of the 3rd; JSU showed they the real tigers. JSU had some self inflicted mistakes that allowed Grambling to hang around (hopefully they fix that) Refs were awful as usual, but that’s how games go. I’m thankful/grateful Deion came to JSU; years from now, we’ll be able to recall the time when Deion Sanders was once a head coach in Jackson, Mississippi. I hope he doesn’t leave, but I’m forever grateful for him getting JSU back to prominence, and the unprecedented views and looks into the HBCU world. Go JSU Tigers!!
With the "style" and "intensity" of "Coach Prime" . . . . I can see JSU becoming not only a "hot spot" for talent but a go to for guys entering the transfer portal. Hell . . . if I were a younger man and had that level of skill . . . I'd wanna be there!
Post game interview, Deion basically said "we were trash 1st half, got the job done in the 2nd. the W is good though". If I was a JSU player, I'd expect some hard practices this coming week.
Jackson St is going to continue to get big time recruits and transfers making it an uneven playing field for HBCUs if they don't get on Coach Deion's level. It's a good thing and jackson St should be scheduling some power 5 conference teams
The coaches aren't bad at these other schools. The schools don't invest I'm their football programs like they should. The players need to train harder.
Eddie G. Robinson was the greatest coach in HBCU history and I highly suggest looking up his life story. I didn’t agree with all those folks that said Travis Hunter or Kevin Coleman would hurt their NFL chances by going to an HBCU and not playing against the elite college talent. I will say from watching this it won’t hurt them but it may very well hurt Sanders’ son. I won’t say that’s my stance cause he’s still so early in his college years, but time will tell…. He was a pretty heavily recruited QB but having the best WR’s and playing against some.. I suppose non elite CB’s genuinely could hurt him in the long wrong. With such WR’s he doesn’t have to worry about accuracy so much on the throws that rlly need it as his WR’s will make the play. There’s some throws in the next level where sometimes the WR needs you to be able to put it in one spot and one spot only on certain routes. Like I mentioned earlier, time will tell. He’s definitely playing well. Now if some of these other HBCU’s could steal a recruit or two and get some more competition going. Eventually Sanders will be a Sr, Coleman/Hunter Jr’s and it’ll make for even more lopsided games. If I was an Alabama A&M I’d go after the kids looking at UAB/Troy and try to fill my team up with low 3 stars.
Teams in the conference are already trying to use the JSU blueprint of bringing in transfers that were 3/4 stars out of hs. Grambling is one of them. Next year will probably provide a better idea of whether it worked.

Usually the division winner would be able to go but because the team is obligated to play in the conference championship, which takes place after the FCS playoffs selection thing, they are automatically ineligible. Plus the winning team is obligated to appear in the Celebration Bowl In order for JSU to go, they'll have to lose to a team and place #2 in the SWAC East, then have a good enough resume to get into the the playoffs as a at large bid I don't see JSU losing to any conference opponents and if they do, it'll probably be too bad of a loss for playoff consideration

Unpopular Opinion: This team isnt as unbeatable as people think. The chances of them running through the SWAC are still pretty high as it's proven Southern is overrated and their lone competitve factors on their schedule may just be Bama State and Alcorn. That being said, if Deion is willing to committ to the ground game early and often to set up their passing game, they shouldnt worry about their schedule until the celebration bowl.
