You did really well to not crash into the other boat dad, you just skimmed it. Nice to see you finally got Aitch blacked in a decent boat yard. Ashby looks like he’s being a good boy… unlike propeller Pete 😂 Not long now until we get our Misty Blue 😉 I’m so excited. See you on the next one MONK haha xxxx
Hilarious self reflection, apologizing to yourself for being rude about how others might feel. Gave me a good laugh that one. But, yeah get painting already will ya!!! ;)
Hi Vince. Great to see you have got Aitch blacked after the let down with the other boat yard, these lads did a great job for you. I must say you did a very professional job getting into the boatyard, well done! looking forward to more adventures with Ashby and Aitch. Take care Vince. Love Mum xxx
What a brilliant bit of kit to get the boat in and out, I'd like a pound for everyone it's moved!! Looks like Friar Tuck was being paid by the hour not the job!! Great to see Ashby has settled in and enjoying life, I bet he's great company.
Well Vince another great vlog. Aitch looks very smart," Friar Tuck" did a good job, aswell as the men doing the blacking, looked like a decent boatyard. What can I say about "propeller Pete" other than I think he needs abit of training to say the least. Aww good lad Ashby he's a cheeky boy. Take care Vince.
Another good vlog and very interesting to see how the blacking Is done, I was well impressed with the way you handled get into the boatyard, Looking forward to seeing your next vlog of your next adventure.
I'm glad that some of the people watching learned a little bit of what goes on out here Neil. As for the little turn into the boatyard, sometimes it goes better than others. See you on the next one!
Hi Vince, that was a interesting video. It's nice to see the other side of canal life. They made a very good job of Aitch's blacking. In a way not getting into the other yard seems a blessing in disguise. Well done on manoeuvring Aitch into the yard, what with Propeller Pete and the cross wind indicated by the flag you did extremely well. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished exterior. As they say, you can't rush a good job. Hopefully the drams's are over for a while and we can look forward to some serene cruising in the countryside soon. Keep up the good work, Kevin.
Yes Kevin, I think it may of been a blessing in disguise getting in that boatyard. I'd like the dramas to be over, but I have an idea that they will keep following me haha! See you next time mate!
Do wonder what was going on with Propeller Pete. Stuck throttle? Hope he did not blow the engine. As someone from "across the pond" I find the canal life quite fascinating. Watched a LOT of them during the lockdowns. Creators like yourself and Cruising the cut have pretty much convinced me to give the liveaboard life a try.
I never found out what went on with propeller Pete. It looked like it was on fire to me. Its a lovely way to live, but not always as idyllic as we sometimes make it look! See you next time!
Lady Aitch looks a million dollars. Nothing like a bit of TLC really worth the effort and hasn’t Ashby grown, he listens to your every word. PS. Don’t get your letters in a muddle when you say friar tuck will you…….my mother was always doing that. Cheers.
Aitch looks marvellous after a bit of tlc, so where you heading off to next Vince? Hope the weather picks up for more adventures on the low locks n canals. Very interesting way to get the barge outta the water and back, think you should have cracked a bottle of beer or champagne on it as it went in, learning more n more every vlog , thanks Vince, Ashby and of course Aitch!
Yes, he looks a lot better Jason! I'm heading for the South Oxford canal. Glad you are picking up a few tips, probably of how not to do it haha! See you on the next one!
Hi Vince, as you said Proper Job, thank you for the video, we are wondering where to next, there was a hint a while back... Take care from Christine and inagnu Peter (I know nothing about an over reving engine honest...) 😇
Hi Peter & Christine. I know you wouldn't rev up the prop when other boats are passing haha! I'm working my way along the South Oxford, so that will probably be the next one. All the best Vince!
I enjoyed that Vince, did they go completely under the boat with the blacking? You did a great job with the stripes. 👏 Did you manage to get the two pack filler you needed to finish the side? You did well not to hit the moored boat because of propeller Pete's action. You also docked Aitch well with lots of patience. I think the fellow up there (as you put it) 😉 delayed you to get you a better company to black Aitch 😊 Keep happy. See you next time. Love, aunt Babs XXX
No they didn't black under the boat. Some people do, but personally I don't think it matters. Still haven't got the 2 pac, need to get close to a town. You're probably right about him up there haha! Look after yourself love Vince x
Another great Vlog you Aitch and Ashby looked to be having a great time, shame about the Arctic conditions in the supposed heat wave or climate fiasco, see you next time on your further adventure of Aitch,Ps how did they do the bottom plate Aitch looked very close to the ground?
Thanks Alan! No they didn't do the bottom plate, Where there's no oxygen down there they rarely rust from the outside. The bottom is more likely to rust from the inside with condensation etc.

Haha! Hope all goes well with the boat, I'm really happy for you both dad xxx
Good job well done.
Thank you! Cheers!

I do some weird s@#t sometimes haha!
Interesting system for hauling boats in and out of the water.
Aitch looking dapper in his new coat.
Yes, its probably cheaper than having a crane lift the boats out Dave!
Good boatmanship well done calm and collective.
Cheers Gerard!
"Propeller Pete" ... 😂😂😂😂😂
Well, that's all I could think of at the time Norm! haha!
@@NarrowboatCruisingLifestyle ... I'm glad you did, it was brilliant...!!!

Yes they was a couple of old grafters. Propeller Pete balls'd up my first effort though haha! See you soon love Vince x
Great to see the process of blacking the boat, that place did a great job. On to more adventures.
I was well pleased with what they done Linda. The next adventure will be a trip to Oxford. See you next time!
So good to see you!! Ashby is such a beautiful boy!! ❤ The way he looks at you 😍 You did a wonderful job on Aitch, looks like new! Hugs from TN 😊
Hi Ruth! Ashby is turning into a lovely little dog. Thanks for the nice comment. All the best from England!
What a brilliant bit of kit to get the boat in and out, I'd like a pound for everyone it's moved!! Looks like Friar Tuck was being paid by the hour not the job!! Great to see Ashby has settled in and enjoying life, I bet he's great company.
Yes Bill, a simple but effective way to get boats in and out of the water! As for Friar Tuck, I think he could do with a rocket up his jacksy haha!
Glad you got it blacked properly in the end Vince.
Woof, woof to Ashby.
Cheers Jilly! Ashby said Grrr Haha!
A good job done all.the best for now 😊
Thank you Suzanne! Look after yourself and I'll see you next time!
Hi Vince. Enjoyed your vlog mate. Straight to the point, informative and always interesting.👍
I'm glad you enjoyed the vlog David. I always try say what I see haha!
Tight entry to the ramp but well handled Vince. Propeller Pete and his amazing exploding motor didn't help.
He made an awkward manoeuvre into an impossible one, on the 1st attempt!

Thanks Kath! Ashby tells me (Friar Tuck) straight. Propeller Pete had a bit of a nightmare with that engine (poor old sod) Look after yourself Kath x

Aitch looks well tasty after that makeover🤛
The bottom half looks good, but still some work to do on the top half.
Aitch looks great now mate . . .all smart looking. Glad you got a good company to sort it for you. Take care.
Cheers Mark. The bottoms ok but the top needs a bit of work!

What about the bottom of the hull ? No blacking ? Just curious about that Vince.
They say that where no oxygen gets on the bottom, there is no need Kenny!
Ah, interesting, I didn’t realise they also blacked the weed hatch and rudder. Do they let you stay overnight on the boat when it’s out of the water?
Hello Timothy. Yes they let you live on the boat. I think that goes for most boatyards!
Looks great Vince and Ashby obvioulsy enjoyed supervising ! Pardon my ignorance, but what's the purpose of the tunnel stripes?
Cheers Jeff. I'm not sure, but I think they was painted on to make them more visible from behind when in tunnels!
Looking shipshape cap’n. Did you find out what the problem was with Propeller Pete?
The bottom half looks good now. But the top half still needs a bit of work. Never saw propeller Pete again Paul.
Hi Vince,
I assume you live on h whilst it's in the yard too. I don't suppose you have much choice.
Yes me and Ashby spent a comfortable 5 days there Stuart!
Leonardo De Vin ci eh Vince waste not want not with time eh. was propellor pete the one who towed you onto the cradle;
No it luckily wasn't him Peter. Or Aitch would have ended up in the car park haha!
👍👍❤️🇨🇦
Cheers!
Ashby's wrong old friia tuck definitely iffy no good job. Aiitch will respond a lot better at the helm
Haha. Friar Tuck wasn't too good, I agree. Yes Aitch should be more responsive
I think having it done with two pack would be better called 'Proper Blacking' these days.
Thank you for your comment!
Alls well that ends well !l see what you mean about the Gods not smiling on you.Did you ever find out about propeller Pete?
Turned out alright in the end Tony! I never saw him again mate!
