I wanted the Thunderer for years... this is good to know that you were able to get it.
Thunderer is a lot of fun! I hope you find her some day :).
The very last 100 containers included Giulio Cesare, Fujin, and both Kamikazes... the preferred choices for seal-clubbers.
Yep basically a bunch of the rare ships which I hadn't gotten yet. Those are absolutely seal clubbers and any time I see them in battle, I look to get rid of them ASAP!
@@Lord_Zath Same, with prejudice.
i opened my wallet, burned a massive hole for all rare ships. My first premium was Massachusetts Black, and the only ship left I can get from Mega Santa Containers is Massachusetts.
Ha go figure. Congrats on getting everything. Which one's your favorite so far?
I did the same then got more after I had them all purely for steel and got FDR Archerfish and Gato for around 2500
@ oh just by your choice in steel ships, I bet you’re really fun at parties 💀
@@Lord_Zath definitely Missouri, I know I don’t get boosted credits but it’s nice having a premium Iowa with a no u zone for dds
@@kaidentjosaas7731 haha honestly the most influence in my decision was because America
I believe I also opened about 1,400 megas.... The very last ship I got was a Missouri, just like WG planned it. Benham was somewhere in the last ten ships on the list. I feel like Xin Zhong Guo 14 was this years Makarov.
Thanks for sharing! Congrats on the Benham and Missouri. So you're set now? All the ships you wanted?
@@Lord_Zath TY. Yeah, set until Blucher comes out. But, at least I don't have to whale anymore and I think it ended up being somewhere in the realm of 1,500ish days of premium time now.
I bought Xin Zhong Guo using recruitment/community coupons to get tier 6 container to avoid burning a santa crate on it. I have no recuits but bonus codes sometimes give community as does playing test server.
@@Cloudman572 Good idea!
People are talking about this like it's a shocking surprise or some kind of scam. WG clearly puts the odds on the page where you buy the boxes. They've explained the buckets you have to pull from to get different levels of ships based on their tier and rarity. So why does everybody act like they just got scammed at a 3 card Monty game? It's like people think that buying a lottery ticket means you have a 50/50 chance of winning the billion dollar jackpot or something.
Want a rare ship? You either whale and spend a fortune or you plan for the long grind of filling out your tech tree and acquiring low tier and common premiums through any means possible. You grind coal, you grind steel, you grind RB bureau points, you participate in all the events to pick up free premiums, you trade ships you got for coal or steel for ships you can only get for doubloons when the trade in event happens (even though it's an uneven trade because you can always get the resource ships again by grinding), you get community points to use on free ship containers by letting twitch feeds run in the background on your computer and you acquire all the free doubloons you can to buy low tier ships you can't get any other way. Once you've done all of those things for a few years and you have most of the low tier stuff then you think about buying mega containers with the POSSIBILITY that you might get a rare ship. And by then the odds won't be so stacked against you.
But just randomly throwing a couple of hundred bucks at some containers and thinking you are going to pull a Missouri out without doing all of the above is stupid in the extreme.
Yeah great point. Part of it of course is people posting their hauls online "OMG LOOK WHAT I GOT!" which of course make others hope/expect the same or better. Sadly, it rarely turns out that way. That's why I always tell people to have low expectations and be happy with what they get. Life's too short to be upset!
@@ashleighelizabeth5916 this is why I tell people I got everything but I did so with the intention of spending enough to get everything I wasn’t looking for luck.
As someone who owns *every* premium and TX, including all rare ones from Arkansas and Iwaki to Kutuzov and Jean Bart, all I'll say is this:
It's not worth it.
I had to spend around £400 each year the last 4 or 5 christmases just to get the 15 or so I didn't buy/earn organically (Nikolai, Kamikaze etc). The drop rate drops vastly once it gives you 20 or so premiums, so it's a linear curve to encourage you to continually spend money. This year I needed to buy 30 mega crates before it dropped Navarin....Navarin being the ONLY ship I didn't own. So not a single ship until that point in THIRTY mega crates.
Most 'rare' premiums are outdated in the meta and have better silver counterparts these days anyway, with a few timeless exceptions such as OG Missouri (with the credit bonus attached, not the new variant without...don't be fooled!) and downright broken ships like Massy, Alaska or Smolensk. Even Thunderer is arguably a slow Incomparable and OG Belfast just feels like a Commonwealth CL sidegrade these days. The real gems are dockyard ships imo, since they're usually unique enough to become relevent again/get buffed if they're not (such as Hizen in the next patch). Two of my three most played ships are Dockyard (Daisen and Puerto) and the others are usually fun regardless of playstyle. I'm far from ever being an Italian Cruiser main yet Michelangelo is one of the most fun T9 Cruisers.
All just my opinion ofc. But it is an informed one to help people avoid potential buyer's remorse. The game changed a lot since most of these rare ships were released and considered strong...you may be disappointed chucking money at WG to get them unless it's solely for historical interest.
Hey congrats on Iwaki and Arky Beta! High-5 to ya. I wholeheartedly agree for most people, it's not worth whaling out for this. I tried to highlight that feeling towards the end of the video. In the end, it's all up to the individual person to decide for themselves. Also OUCH on your crate luck.
I think you meant steel and not silver in your larger paragraph. I disagree on Thunderer. She's still quite fantastic and IMO far more comfortable than Incomparable. I can play her like a Conqueror and burn all the things, or I can play her like an American BB slinging AP. As for OG Belfast, I also disagree. The ability to radar with smoke is far more useful than crawling smoke, but both are quite powerful. Great point on the dockyard ships. I agree many of them are really good!
And yes, many of the "rare" ships are not that great nowadays due to meta shifts or mechanics changes. Good point there!
Thanks for taking the time to write up your opinion!
He called Alaska downright broken XD
@ Well, it can be! A citadel that's extremely difficult to hit and big guns make Alaska a very formidable cruiser, which is why she's no longer sold.
Its a huge Con your the 5th CC I have seen who pull the very rare ships last , ships like GC , Kamikaze Sisters , Missouri , Georgia , Thunderer , WG will throw the Dross at you first you virtually need to spend over £600 to have any chance of the ships mentioned.
Honestly it makes sense.. it's how rarity works. You can't get them until you literally have no more ships to get. Of course, there were some I got during the earlier openings, but I'm not at all surprised at how things worked out.
Took me about $1400 to get everything.
Thank you for sharing. What's been your favorite so far?
@@Lord_Zath Definately the Missouri, Rhode Island or Georgia. Always wanted a BB with 457s and secondaries or Radar and decent secondaries.
@@Alex-zw5bf Georgia's a lot of fun, but I prefer Rhode Island among those 3. The rate of fire and more guns means I hit more than I do in Georgia :).

total 1000 containers to obtain all ships available in the droplist
Pretty insane, eh?
put about 300 in to try to get the Missouri, another year of failing, and i knew the risks. wasnt meant to be
I'm sure you'll get it some day. Don't fret. Did you get anything else big? Missouri is a fine ship, but there are so many awesome ships in the game that aside from completing a collection (extremely expensive/hard), there's not a huge reason to go nuts over it. I'd rather have a Benham, for example.

I'd bet much of the player base does not actually have the disposable income to throw away a literal gaming PC or enough cash to pay your rent for months in a row for a bunch of pixel ships you gotta then pay creds to kit out in game. Well said about burning your pockets. This experiment shows how their rates are pretty greedy and we shouldn't do it for specific ships only. Shame that the Missouri given out is not the OG 30% income printer tho.
I'd agree most of the playerbase doesn't have the disposable income. Some do. As long as it's not causing financial harm, people should do what they want with their money. As for their rates, yeah, you could say greedy. Still, consider how much more would probably be spent buying every ship outright over the course of the year. Agreed, though, on not trying for specific ships. I'm glad you picked up on that. Did you pick up any ships from Santa (free or paid) containers?
@@randomyoutubecommentersecu7639 you’d be surprised. I got everything then got more just to farm steel and got 3 steel ships. I might even do it again to get Shinano this weekend
That reindeer was NOT on my screen ! I feel scrooged !
If you haven't claimed it yet, check the armory via web browser. armory.worldofwarships.com (or .eu/.asia). It's a bug that has impacted a lot of people.
I guess i got super lucky then. I whaled with 2k and got them all. I barely got any premium time or steel though.
Wow congrats!!! Did you have any of the ships before?
@Lord_Zath i bought the t5s so they didnt drop, had massa, georgia, friesland, and enterprise beforehand. This was the 1st and last time i drop big money into this game. Just prem time from here out.
@@_nihilus7127 Awesome. Glad you are happy with the results. Love the idea of buying the T5's to get them out of the way.
most players already has many premium ships, so it will probably not take 937500 dubs to get the rest.
How many dubs is it possible to buy in one go.? Because when you have birthday you get a ticket from wg who gives you 50% of when buying dubs, or other gods. So then you save the dubs for christmas mega containers.
Yes a good strategy many employ is picking up lower tier premiums via doubloons or recruitment container to reduce the chances of low tier ships appearing. The maximum number of doubloons that can be purchased at once is 1 million, at a cost of $4,000 USD.
@@Lord_Zath yeah but the b day coupon only applies to the preset packages you can spend $200 to get $400 worth but that’s the most you can get with the bday coupon.
@@ma6netho the bday coupon actually gives you 100% so if you buy the $200 doubloon pack you will get $400 worth.
how to display all currencies in port ? i hate having to go to armory to check every time
I think it's one of the mods I use... Aslain.com
@@Lord_Zath ty big G
I agree. It's pretty ridiculous not to put the "wallet" out on the port screen.
@@kingofcastlechaos I used to take screenshots of all my resources after each patch. Used to take like 5 or 6 screens. Wild how many different currencies there are now!
Wow i wonder if anyone has done this on the console vers. Wows Legends
yeah that'd be interesting!
So the chance to get the golden ships increases after you get the normal versions? Because statistically it should be near impossible to get all 3 from 100 goldens
after getting the 3 normal versions, the chance for getting a golden version falls under the original 10%-- i.e., in 40 containers you would be guaranteed at least all 3 normal ships + 1 gold due to the pity system
Yes exactly. Sorry I missed the comment earlier. I was a bit surprised as well to see it, but I suppose the math checks out!
So wargaming doesn't want you to gamble but yet give you rubbish odd's at pulling a ship out, hmmmm ok wargaming peeps are gunna spend loads to try get ships I'm a fool that fell for it put in over 300 quid this xmas on containers and never got prem time
If premium time is what you were looking for, it was just on sale (might still be). Otherwise, focus on getting the free stuff first and see where things land. Did you get anything "worthwhile" with your spending?
@@Lord_Zath Just saying with the prem time with the amount of creates I have opened. As for ships I got I have always check with the man guys on you tube there opinions of the ships I had got and they wasn't rated that great and being mainly DD's and DD's not being my go to ship is kinda rubbish If that makes me picky then guess I am lol
@@andyphillips2093 You be as picky as you want. As I always tell people, set expectations low any time you spend money on something that MIGHT appear... because it typically won't!
@@andyphillips2093 after whaling EVERYTHING in the Santa crates it comes out to like 10-20$ per ship. So really if you go into it with the intention of getting Everything you will save like 80% than if you bought each ship individually.
I have 700 ships….any offers?
If you are referring to selling your account, unfortunately Warships ToS does not allow for this.
@@Lord_Zath Good answer. I am amazed how many people do not read the ToS/EULA. You are a good ambassador for WoWs and they should be glad they have you.
@@kingofcastlechaos Thank you so much for the kind words. I'm glad to have people like you in this amazing community. Have a happy New Year!!!
@@Lord_Zath I bet you could make a new account whale everything in the Santa crates then sell the account for profit. While against the rules yes, Brazilians don’t care.
@@PigPissBeUponThem I'm sure there are people who do this, taking advantage of cheaper currency prices. But I will stay far from that :)
