    I have always been interested in how tea is made, and the tea industry is a huge part of the Sri Lankan economy. So I got the chance In Ahangama to visit Virgin White Tea Plantation, and I am very excited to share every second of this journey. This is the video's first part, and the second part is coming very soon! 🇱🇰
    Have you ever been to a tea plantation?

    • @toohappytobehomesick
      @toohappytobehomesick ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, I saw some tea plantations in Nuwara Eliya area, I was impressed! But I didn't go deep inside. I visited a tea factory in Kandy though, it was interesting to listen to the explanation of how tea is processed

    I have to say that the tour of the tea nursery was excellent in several respects. 1) The guide covered in a few sentences the conditions for growing the tea plants. 2) Each step of the explanation was demonstrated by the guide using the tea plant by him. 3) We understood exactly how the tea leaves are plucked in different plants and at different times of the day. 4) I liked the short summaries including Davud's questions between stages of the tour. 5) It was felt that the guide has a lot of experience, summarized the main points and expanded the explanation on interesting details on the topic of plucking the growth of tea leaves in different plants. 6) I really enjoyed the tour and hope that later on we will hear about the health benefits of tea leaves and also a proper demonstration of how to make tea. Many thanks from the bottom of my heart to Davud and the guide Hani.

    Thank you for sharing this wonderful video of Tea plantation tour. As a Sri Lankan myself, it's amazing to see how much I still have to learn about my own country's natural beauty and cultural heritage. I was particularly fascinated by the white tea that you mentioned in the video, which I had never heard of before. It's great to see someone from a different culture promoting Sri Lanka's tourism and helping the local community. Your efforts will not only bring economic benefits but also foster cultural exchange and appreciation. Thank you for showcasing Sri Lanka's natural beauty and promoting its tourism industry.🔥🔥

    This vlog is highly educational and a must for sri lankan students to watch. The basics are explained in detail and anyone can learn how Ceylon low country tea is managed in the Southern part of the island. If iam correct that stem which is used to produce white tea is also reffered as Golden Tips.

    Just to add Cinnamon in real wild form was found ONLY in Sri Lanka. No where else on earth. So more than Tea Sri Lanka was famous for its Cinnamon even before silk route days. Originally cinnamon had grown wild in central hill country of Sri Lanka. The history of cinnamon dates back to about 2800 B.C where it can be found referenced as ”kwai” in Chinese writings.
    Ancient Egyptians used it as long ago as 2000 BCE and even the Bible makes mention of C 25:50 Ceylon Cinnamon in proverb 7:17 when it says " "I have sprinkled my bed With myrrh, aloes and cinnamon ". While its source was kept a mystery by the traders to their source, today it is well known that Cinnamon came from the Island of Sri Lanka located at the tip of India. This is the true home of Cinnamon.
