Awesome to see some more details about your mixing process, Eric! The DiD videos have come a long way since you took over editing a couple years back--I can't thank you enough!
I’m so pumped to be helping with the channel! Thanks for making such cool videos! 🤘🤘🤘
Now I know why he sounds really damn good on his videos. Always sounds massive.
Ah thanks so much!!
Awesome!
Thanks!
I know absolutely nothing about mixing, but it was awesome to hear those parts going from sounding pretty cool, to damn awesome!
I’m so glad you enjoyed it! Seems like people dig this type of video
Many Thx for - How to Mix Doom Metal with Does It Doom? | High On Fire - Burning Down !
Super helpful video ! Really enjoyed this one .
I’m glad you enjoyed it man! Thanks!
É sempre uma grande satisfação suas explicações!
Obrigado Eric 👍🏻🤘🏻
Thank you so much!
Awesome video. This is the kind of info that is really hard to find specific to doom, so kudos to you for sharing it!!
I’m glad you dug it! I’m thinking about doing some more of these for different songs
This was fun to watch and I also learned a lot...
I’m so happy to hear that!
Thanks for giving us a peak behind the curtain Eric!
Absolutely! I’m hoping to do more videos like this in the future!
Love this Eric!
Thanks so much!
Two of my favorite channels, you guys and Jason from Fuzzlord are great! You guys inspired me to get my first SG, from Guitar Center used. I believe it to be an Epiphone Traditional Pro in Burgundy Sparkle. I paid under $300 shipped with a case.
Oh man! That’s a smoking deal!!
@@EricMerrow Fingers crossed they shipped it properly. Should be here tomorrow. I had my mind set on an ebony SG, but the deal was too good not to get this.
Sweet, man... I love Sg's...Enjoy it!
The guitar arrived today, all in tact too. Had all the plastic over the pickup covers, back plate and a chunk still on pickguard. Only two things I noticed was some black gunk on a fret and possibly a high fret or two. The case is a universal fit and has seen better days, the tolex is separated from the wood in multiple spots, but can't complain. 🤘
@@PineconeTheory nice!😎👍
I have never seen anyone mix on premier pro before. mad stuff!
😂😂 yeah I’m definitely using premiere in an unconventional way! It works though!
Frig, you are a busy guy lol, contributing to lots of great stuff all over the place!
I’m trying! 😂 I like staying busy for sure
Great video, Eric! I really appreciate this one as I am just beginning to learn how to record and mix. I am curious to see how people mic up and record drums if they only have a Focusrite 2i2. Lol
I would think bass drum mic and a condenser mic. I also was thinking the same thing I’m a drummer but learning guitar.
@berniehodges812 for guitar, mic placement is key. Towards the center of the cone will be a brighter sound. The further you go out, the low-end gets picked up a more (in my experience). Though if you are recording direct to the audio audio interface via XLR output or whatever other means, this doesn't help at all.
So glad you like the video! As for recording drums with a 2i2, if it were me and I was on a budget I would go 1 of 2 routes.
1: sm57 + a condenser of some sort (MXL makes a great affordable mic). I would use the 57 to mic the kick and the condenser to put above the snare ~3-4ft so it captures mainly snare but also the rest of the kit. This could also easily be done with 2 sm57’s.
2. I could cheat my way into a 3 mic setup. Any mics will work, but I’ll probably just say 3 57’s bc they’re easy, affordable and they work on everything. In this one, I’d have to get a small 2 channel mixer. But in this case I would close mic the kic, then run the Glyn Johns method of overhead mic which is 2 mics placed the same distance from the middle of the snare - 1 directly above the snare, then the other over the outside of the floor Tom pointed at the snare
@EricMerrow wow! Thanks for the options and info! I will try the first setup this weekend with the drummer. Might have to invest in a new mixer, though, depending on results. Thanks again Eric!
@@EricMerrow thanks for the help
