I found your channel by chance (Making a video game in 3 days) and since then I watch your videos. Your vibe is great and I enjoy the cuts of your video. Your drawing style is also lovely. I must say both long and short hair suit you. You should share more videos if possible. Great job on the game too. I don't know anything about programming either but this game was looking pretty :)
This is so cool! I was searching for someone vlogging while in a game jam cause i also wanna do the same ggj 2019 and you're awesome! Keep up the good work ♥️

Hi there, ive heared you started to learn GameMaker, is that using the scripting language or the drag and drop? (Because GML is essential to GameMaker, also very simple, i think this could help you get into programming) If so; I would say that when it comes to visual scripting, Clickteam Fusion takes the lead, also because Fusion's event editor has been years in development, compared to GameMaker which only recently added the drag and drop interface. (At least, in GMS2, there was a form of visual editing in GMS1 but that was not very practical) Clickteam fusion also allows you to organize your events better. As a C# programmer i use Fusion to make prototypes, games for game jams, or games with my brother and i would say that Clickteam does the best job at giving the event editor the freedom a programming language could have (which is why i switched from GameMaker to Fusion). Anyways, for GameMaker i would definitely reccomend to use GML. I hope to see more awesome videos soon, keep up the good work :D
Yeah we are using GML :) Josef recently took a lookat the drag and drop system and said it's harder then learning scripting. I think you are totally right and using fusion for prototyping and gamejams is still unbeatable for us time wise. However I always have the feeling that you have to "hack" things in fusion or do them in an "unclean" way if that makes sense? Gamemaker gives me the confidence of actually making a polished game from start to finish... although people have done that with fusion as well xD
@@Simonemaendl Definitely true, Fusion also has a library manager that lets you do more in the event editor, and im sure that experienced Fusion developers will always have a solid solution to the problems. But i would say that GameMaker, Especially GMS2 does indeed make things more polished and consistent to work with, tho i would not reccomend using GMS1 since its been made in Delphi, as such, you will get buggy results, especially graphics wize. Im still wondering if i should use Fusion or GameMaker (i have both). But since i already use C# i think Fusion is more fitting for me to use as a Side-Tool. Thanks a lot for the reply, and good luck with GameMaker :D
oh yes of course!! I didn't recognize your youtube name :D what are you doing in scotland... whaaaat... I have so many questiones haha :D yeah we should definitely jam one day *_* finally someone who can draw characters :D
We have both used unity for other projects and didn't know at that point that visual scripting plugins exist for it. So we used the visual scripting engine clickteam which we got recomended and had a teacher for. So far my experience with unity (as someone who has to work with it 1-2 times a month for a couple of hours) has been merge conflicts, version confusion and a hard learning curve if you have no programming knowledge :) so that's why we went for the easiest solution
I've worked with it when the blueprinting system was new and did not like unreal at all. However a lot of devs have recomended it now and say it has gotten super good. Only downside is that my 3D modeling skills are waaaaaaay worse then 2D. And unreal seems to mainly be for 3D games. What are you using the engine for?
Simone I use it for making a 3D platformer through blueprints Lol. But unreal is being used for cinematics, 2D games, VR, AR and much more. It’s really good now and there are good tutorials out there. Virtus is a good youtuber I like to watch but mainly does 3D as well. I’m sure there are 2D tutorials out there. I haven’t tried 2D games with it but I do know it’s possible and probably the same kind of node usage.

Hey! Thank you so much :D I really want to make more videos on game making, especially now that I'm slowly learning to code simple stuff myself
@@Simonemaendl then i am excited to see new videos which you code your own platform or indie game 😊
Same here, this is the second video I watch after "3 days game jam" was recommended to me. Love it
These Gamejam videos are def. the best ones ^^ 👍
Thanks :D I hope to make a lot more. They are so fun... just extremely time consuming :')
Awww I'm in this
Looking forward to see what you make! :D
I know that you are an artist, but your editting skils are amazing, im just loved by your work. congratulations!

I appreciate your dare and confidence
You guys are amazing! Thanks for making great content. Cheers!
this is pretty cool
Well done, don't give up on making games without programming:) I hope I was able to help you.
Definitely :D we have continued to learn and have made A LOT of progress since the gamejam. Now we just have to wait for Clickteam 3 to come out...
Great content
hell yeah Örebro
This videos are inspiring
But still a good job
pretty cool
Josef reminds me a bit of Badger from Breaking Bad. In a good way. I think.
He liked that comment :')
Lol
I just found your channel. And I'm from Brazil, and I was wondering if there are a lot of Brazilians who watch other gamedev channels.

thats how all good games start :')
This makes me want to game jam with you xD
Do you do gamejams too? :D Where are you from?

oh yes of course!! I didn't recognize your youtube name :D what are you doing in scotland... whaaaat... I have so many questiones haha :D yeah we should definitely jam one day *_* finally someone who can draw characters :D
Working for Outplay :) Did you ever do a game jam with a remote teammate? I did and it worked quite well, so hook me up when you do your next one :D
Yeah maybe we can try that. Next one is at the End of january I think :)
Your game looks cool, also you look cute!
again =)
y do you use the game en-gen u us?
For this jam we used a software called clickteam fusion
Simone you're so beautiful
Clickteam Fusion or Fusion Engine?
use UNITY3D
and game dev = the world
Örebroooo

I'm kinda happy that I have to learn some programming now :)
Do you also work on games?
@@Simonemaendl yeah, just finished making rts for 3 weeks local jam :)
