That’s interesting. I know that mark jewelers are printed in only about 5% of the comic’s entire print run. And they were distributed to stores near or on base. But I’m surprised you’ve never encountered one. Especially in the 80’s. They may have been more common in the 70’s.. not entirely sure.
Great video! Very informative. Too bad about the staples, but overall I think it was worth it. It presents very well. And for that price, who's complaining?! I've been thinking about trying some of this out on some old dollar bin books so I don't do anything I regret. 😁
Do you think that lighter pressure would help not drive those staples in further? Or are they going to be driven-in simply because the spine roll existed for so long?
I’m thinking that the issues with the staples are because the spine roll was so bad prior to pressing. I’m not sure I could have prevented the staples from pushing in. Also, the paper where the spine is was very weak and worn out. But I’m still learning! I’ll have to see if I can prevent that next time I have a book like this.
@@patriotcomics I've never had such an enjoyable hobby as comic CPR. Like you said - I too and still learning i've been only at it for like 7 months. Love it!
Awesome job brother! Such a magnificent book to demonstrate on. Definitely worth it! Well done!
Thanks so much John! I appreciate you watching! I’m very happy with the way it turned out even if it is still a very low-grade copy.
I was active duty Air Force from '84-'94, and never encountered a Mark Jewelers comic.

Thanks so much! I’m definitely happy with the way it turned out. Looks much better than it did before!

Thanks so much! Yeah I’m definitely happy with the results. And yes, definitely start off with dollar books at first. That’s what I did too.
