Fried Chicken | Cooking with Holly

  • I probably haven’t made fried chicken in ten years but Graham was begging me to do this, so we’ll see how this goes! Maybe not the healthiest meal, but sometimes you just need some southern comfort food :). See below for the recipe we followed and watch all the way to the end for my thoughts on the results!
    Fried Chicken Recipe:
    1) Soak chicken in buttermilk for a couple hours.
    2) Remove from buttermilk and pat dry.
    3) Mix some salt, pepper, onion powder and garlic powder into your flour.
    4) Roll the chicken in the flour.
    5) Fill up 1/3 of the skillet with oil, put lid on it (or use a cookie sheet) and wait until hot (medium high).
    6) Place chicken in skillet for 4-5 minutes on first side and 2-3 minutes on second side.
    7) Remove then put in paper bag.
    8) Salt, shake and enjoy!.
    *Note: Add oil and reheat between each batch of chicken if needed.
