      I just finished my classes with Sophia. The milestones and final exams are open book. The touchstone consist of paper writing. I agree the touchstones are time consuming. I would stay away from them if your trying to get done by a certain time.

      If one is a Western Governor University college student one has to submit their transfer college credits prior to enrolling with WGU; now after one has started their WGU university studies WGU no longer accepts any future transfer college credits any more; this contrasts directly with University of Maine at Presque Isle (UMPI) does accept transfer college credits even after you've begun your studies through their UMPI YourPace program.
      Now this is a significant game changing major cost savings advantage compared to some other four year universities like WGU for example. One can continue taking courses at one's local community college or other institutions while enrolled at UMPI YourPace which cost $1,500 for a single full time flate rate college tuition rate eight week term session;
      where their are six potential eight week term session in a typical academic calendar year. UMPI is also regionally accredited four year university by New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE). NECHE is one of the six regional accrediting bodies in the United States and is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Regional accreditation is generally considered more prestigious and rigorous than national accreditation;
      Once one completes a course elsewhere, submit an official transcript to UMPI. They will evaluate it for transfer credit on a per-term basis; the transferred college credits can shorten the time it takes to complete your UMPI degree program at YourPace; one can potentially significantly reduce the total number of UMPI courses one needs to take that allows one to massively achieve significantly much higher savings on UMPI college tuition costs.
      UMPI also has 40 general education category college credits to pick from and 62 general elective category college credits also to pick from; from their UMPI Liberal Studies with a Business Management Minor major for example with 18 listed college credits for the Business Management Minor category. So at UMPI one can customize one's potential UMPI Liberal Studies with as many or as little Business Management focused concentration potential transfer college credits at a much lower overall four year university overall college credit cost while also saving on the amount of time it typically takes to go through a typical full time flat rate tuition eight week term period.
      Since their are six individual eight week time period term $1,500 full time flat rate tuition; in one UMPI academic calendar year this would allow one the maximum flexibility to pursue and focus one's educational objective UMPI full time academic university college studies into a single individual potential available eight week time blocks of uninterrupted time; this would maximize the chances of achieving academic success in one's academic studies while also saving money.
      For example one could take a break from one's academic studies to potentially earn another $1,500 so that one could potentially attend another eight week term period of full fime flat rate tuition during which one could earn up to fifteen college credits in that eight week time period.
      UMPI also has a policy of absolutely no proctored written exams also as well but in its place only written submitted evaluated projects and/or written evaluation essays and even that course evaluation methodology comes with a rough written rough draft corrective course highly useful student provided feedback for all of its potential written final course evaluation project and/or written final course evaluation essay feedback, before submitting the second final draft written final course evaluation and/or written final course evaluation essay that one's college course credit grades will be directly objectively graded and evaluated.
