    I just started today! My major is in Computer Information Systems and I am taking my first Sophia learning course in Accounting. I like that you can learn at your own pace, take your time, and that you have 2 hours to do each of the Milestone tests. I also like the simple structure and how for example, I only have 4 modules which can be completed extremely quickly. I wouldn’t say the material is deep or enlightening that much, I find this program is better for those like me that just want to pass classes quickly and get them out of the way. Perhaps that’s why my university doesn’t offer too many courses for El to do on Sophia learning. It’s mainly electives and Major related coarse that I can choose, not core classes. Overall, I love your video and input and I agree that Sophia learning is an amazing platform for everyone

    years ago I went to a public state university and I failed a few of my classes bc I was so stressed out from paying rent and worried about working. That I had to drop out, but now my life is more stable and have kids. And I think I want to go college again through Sophia and transfer credit to wgu. I'm happy there's college credited courses that are more affordable and flexible.

      I believe WGU accepts Sophia credits, you can confirm with them but certainly Sophia is a very affordable and quick way to finish your degree quicker. Their fees are now $99 but if you maximize your study in one month you can get a lot of credits for $99.

      @@mxxovo_ I am sorry for the delay. I am just seeing your post. I started a course one day. I just read through as much as rhe material each day. I did write things down that I thought were important or things I needed to remember. Most of the courses are open box (allows one sheet of note paper) for final proctored quiz. I was able to finish either the same week or within a week and a half. I used the speech setting where the books are read aloud. It allowed me to continue my daily task. I downloaded the apps for the ebook and I was able to have it read to me on the go as well. That’s how I got it done.

    Questions:
    It’s been one year later. From what you learn so far, what would you do differently if you can do it all over again?
    I have not chosen my college yet and it’s been suggested to me to pick either WGU or UofP. What do you suggest?
    My goals. I want to take journey needed to acquire the following careers:
    #1 Trauma Certified ICU Traveling ER Nurse (ENP/MSN)
    #2 Master’s in Property Management
    #3 Bachelor’s in Property Development
    I have a full time job, but I only work Friday, Saturday, Sunday. So I have the time, but not the money; and neither the ability to travel to a college.

If I could do anything differently I would do more courses with Sophia earlier so id complete quicker.. apart from that I wouldnt change anything. 2.based on your goals you could review UoPeople health science syllabus as well as WGU medical degree and see which one would make you qualified for your desired job. Both are good options though, i hear good things of WGU, not sure how their schedule is tho but i believe they are online but for US citizens only.

    Hi, I don't understand the credit system that well. thus you might find this question a bit obvious but how can i be sure that the credit score from a specific course will suit me for my bachelor's degree?
    I assume that each degree has its own specific credit scores that need to be met, i.e Introduction to Java course will provide 3 credit scores. however, it might not fit into liberal studies credits requirement.
    I hope that I articulated the question well enough.

    What was your mode of transferring the credits to UoPeople? Automatic notification, processing through parchment or ACE transcript? What were the charges from Sophia to UoPeople? I know UoPeople charges $17 but was there any other charge?

    • @I_am_kris______
      @I_am_kris______  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I used Credly (www.credly.com/) to get the free transcript, when you finish your first course on sophia you will see the option to sign up for free with credly and your transcript will go to them in PDF. You will also see an option to make all course you completed be add to credly. When you complete the courses you want then you download the transcript and add it you the transfer transcript portal in uopeople. so you only pay Uopeople, you don't pay anything to get your transcript. although sophia.org will try to sell transcript its not necessary. I will make a video about that soon.

    On Sophia Learning it says "Take as many courses as you want for just a $79/month subscription fee, up to two courses at a time". Isn't it a contradiction itself? It's on Sophia's How it works page.

    • @raadkarim9437
      @raadkarim9437 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      To add to that, I just checked Sophia's partner institutions where the credits are accepted. UoPeople is not on the list. Could you please tell how did you transfer them in that case?

    • @I_am_kris______
      @I_am_kris______  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can only do 2 courses at a time, however I did 1 course at a time, once a course done it will be moved from active to complete and then you can start another. So if you wish to study 2 courses at a time you can do so, BUT you can only have 2 active courses at a time. However the time you take to complete the course is entirely up to you. So you can complete 1 course in 1 day then add another course and just keep doing that until you reach the desired courses or until the subscription ends. So for me, I took 1 week to complete Algebra, 1 week to do Statistics, then I used the remaining 2 weeks to do the other courses, so I would complete like 1 per day or 2 in a day depending on how easy the course is on if I have prior knowledge of the content.

    I did 4 courses that Sophia GE has and transferred my transcripts to Uopeople they accepted them. My question for you is, Did they accept Required Proctor courses such as College Algebra as a valid transcript? I was hesitant to do it at Sophia's because I thought Uopeople might want me to do it proctored with them.
    PS: By the way how did you get the discount? I could only do 4 courses in one month and a half because I'm majoring in two Colleges and I have very little time left in between plus this term I'm doing 4 courses at Uopeople and 2 courses at my other college (BYU.) Are you a Business Major?

    • @I_am_kris______
      @I_am_kris______  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    How many weeks/months do you think it would take me to get 15 credits? (I’ll be doing it all day everyday)

    • @I_am_kris______
      @I_am_kris______  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      15 credits will give you 5 courses, If the courses you choose has no assignments(touchstones) you can finish them very quickly (For "me" if I had the entire day to do courses I could do 1-3 courses per day depending on how easy or hard the course is). They allow you to do 2 courses at a time, I suggest you do courses without assignments so that once you complete the course you can add 2 more courses and keep going until you reach your goal. Now if you choose courses with touchstone it will not let you move on until the instructors grade the assignment which can take some time.

    • @I_am_kris______

      Hey! I took 1 week to do algebra, 1 week to do statistics because those are hard for me, and then i took a few days for the others courses, so depending on how easy the course is I may complete 1 per day or 1 per couple days. The hack to finishing quicker is doing courses you already have knowlege in.
