I have a half finished quilted panel from ten years ago and I bring it out every Christmas to finish it, do a few stitches, put it away and forget about it for another year. That is perfect Dahlia Club project bag fabric and the “night before Christmas” embroidery would be a charming small pillow on a bed, waiting for you to hunker down at night! We are blanket WIP twins - my Bits and Bobs and crochet stripe blankets are at the same stage as yours and my Squiddle Village blanket is maybe 3/4 finished. I’ve lost count of how many other WIPs I have, but they were all cast on with love and deserve my attention, so I think it’s time to join Finish Up February in 2025 and see how many I can finish. Kelly, please please don’t feel bad about unfinished projects. I always look at my unfinished projects as an accomplishment they serve a purpose for that time to comfort me. Let’s face crafting is a lot cheaper than therapy.❤ I probably have about 40 projects in bags. There’s no guilt there only happiness. if they get finished, that is wonderful and something to celebrate. I have been so blessed as an adult to have money to buy crafting supplies. As a child I wanted, but I could not have. I’m really thankful for your friendship during the years. I’ve been so happy to come and visit with you on TH-cam. I always get inspired and see things I want to make you always cheer me up and make me feel wanted.🥰🎄 Let’s make this the best Christmas ever❣️

Oh Kelly, we’re so similar! I had an almost identical granny stripe blanket to yours that I knew I’d never finish so I turned it into a cushion cover - I bet if you got a bolster cushion pad you could just see up the edges with an envelope type closure and repurpose your lovely blanket. I love mine and feels good to make those hours count xxxx
I would love that blanket you've started. I would finish it for my daughter's day centre she runs for people with dementia, Blankets are for long term making I think. I have one I started in 2020 and I found a cardigan I started way way before that. I did keep it out with the intention of finishing it. As for us not watching you, as if we wouldn't xx
Thank you Kelly for a lovely chat this afternoon! It’s pouring with rain so it’s an afternoon indoors knitting for me today! I think it’s very therapeutic to have a clear out of old crafty stuff occasionally. If you’re definitely not going to finish anything - get rid! It’s good to pass stuff on to friends who will finish stuff or indeed use the wool. My local hospice shop accepts craft items willingly as they always sell apparently. Take care and thank you x

I think I have got whip’s that are older than yours. I have a habit of stopping when I’m nearly at the end a project and I hate to think how many I’ve got. But I do love to start a new project it brings me great job 😂

Hi Kelly - I may have your ‘Bits and Bobs Blanket’ twin! Mine was cast on on April 6, 2018 and has been laying dormant for at least 5 years! I feel so much better about by inaction now - it and I are in good company! 🙂
Maybe after Christmas, says ‘Chief Procrastinator’! 😀 I found I didn’t always catch both strands of yarn and it was not easy to ‘frog’! Think the weight could be a factor too. I did finish Kay’s ‘Bits and Bobs Cowl and do love it - it’s so squishy and cosy!
Hi, Kelly, with regards to the blanket that is “heavy” to knit on, you could do a provisional cast on and knit the rest and then join the two parts afterwards?
Sadly for the minute yes, however i have a meeting set up for next Tuesday to work with a company to get us regulated. It may not happen until well into the new year but all the work is happening behind the scenes. I will email you, we can always keep things here for you until we are sorted or your son visits. X
