Durham, North Carolina Hood Areas

Durham, North Carolina has a population of over 306,000 people. Poverty level is 12.6%, and the violent crime rate is 86% OVER the National Average. Not a terrible place, and a lot of growth is happening. But today I'm going to check out the hood areas of Durham. Let's take a drive and check it out.

Lived in Durham 6 years- it's a cool city but the divide between the rich and poor can be shocking. One side of town has Duke University and the some of the wealthiest folks who live in NC and then a few minutes down the road are projects. It's sad but people in Durham are awesome and there's lots to do.
