Ol Dan yer bringing back memories on this one... I remember about 8/9 yrs old collecting range brass for my grandpa, he'd take me to the sheriff's range he been there about 30 yrs..but from cleaning to reloading, those were awesome times Thank u sir from Indian River County Florida
Thank ya for watching and commenting Mr Anthony and yes sir, reloading is some good stuff, worth the time spent doing it as well!! You have a good Thursday my friend!!! Dan
Thank ya for watching and commenting sir, welcome to the channel!! Yes sir, I've been handloading for 25 years now and I can't agree with ya more on enjoying making my own ammunition!! I preciate ya topping by the channel, have a great week!! Dan
I use the Lee Automatic Processing Press APP Single Stage Press Kit 90933 to de-prime all my brass and bulge bust pistol cases. I never get dirty brass near my rock chucker or my progressive presses.
Thank ya for watching and commenting, welcome to the channel sir!! I did the same with a single stage press back in the day, I've downgraded as well equipment wise so I've been doing everything on my T7!! Dan
Dan I have been watching you for at least a year. Normally you do gardening videos or plant videos. I’m EXTREMELY happy to see you doing this kind of content. Be careful what you show brother I am a very 2a person. I’m cool with most of the guys who do this kinda content. The tube doesn’t seem to like us at all so just be careful. Love your channel and I would hate to see some anti American BS happen to you Sir
Thank ya for watching and commenting Mr Johnny and yes sir, I've been trying to stay within YT's guidelines, kinda makes ya wonder why folks would get upset over sharing information like this!! Have a good Thursday sir and stay safe!! Dan
Really great information, Dan. Never realized some of the tools needed for cleaning brass. You are well stocked, my brother. Have a happy Hump Day! Rob
Thank ya for watching and commenting sir, welcome to the channel!! My method is a lil long, but it's been working for me for over 20 years now!! Have a great weekend!! Dan
Nice show Dan. We used to shoot large caliber but moved to .22LR for practice with some large caliber range practice thrown in. Using the .22 lets us shoot more for less money, but equally important it’s easier in arthritic joints. Thanks! Take care.
Thank y'all for watching Mr Henry and yes sir I do the same with 22LR, I have one built on the AR platform, definitely good practice!! Y'all have a good Thursday over there!!! Dan
Thank ya for watching and commenting Mr Clay and I used both methods back in the day but I went to just wet tumbling now!! Have a good Thursday sir!!! Dan
Dan, I have always liked and been fascinated by hand loading. You going to make me fall in this rabbit hole again haha. This was cool watching this process of you tumbling the brass haha. That brass looked better than brand new once you tumbled it.
Thank ya for watching Ronnie and yes sir, it gets addictive lol!! That Rebel 17 does a good job on that brass for sure as most of that range brass wash shonuff dirty and tarnished!! Y'all have a good weekend sir!! Dan
Thank ya for watching and commenting A. S, welcome to our community and the channel!! Awesome, glad ya enjoyed the video, I plan on making a few more reloading videos soon!! Have a great weekend!! Dan
Good video Dan. I've been tumbling for about 3 years now, late to the game but I wouldn't do it any other way now. Just a suggestion, my system for separating the pins is to buy a case sifting pan that will fit a 2gal Home Depot bucket and after draining the drum dump everything into the pan on the bucket and put it under a water tap and let it run. It will fill with water to overflowing and just stir the cases around, the pins will fall into the water filled bucket, the brass gets rinsed and once you remove the sifting pan with the cases for drying you just dump out as much water as possible and pick the pins out with a nail pickup magnet. You can get the magnet at harbor Freight for less than 10 bucks, it's the type that releases the media and it will dump the pins back into your jar with nothing left behind. I can dump a drum of cases into the pan, rinse them, seperate the pins and have them back into my drum in about 3-4 minutes. You might also want to try Southern Shine Media, it's small stainless steel chips with edges on them. They don't get stuck in flash holes, bridge in case necks and actually polish the cases with the edges. I've used both and IMHO do a better job.
Thank ya for watching and commenting Mr Ken, welcome to the channel!! The pins I use do bridge at times and get stuck in some case necks, I'm gonna have to give Southern Shine a look and also the media separator you mentioned, thank ya for the tips sir!! I preciate ya stopping b the channel, have a great weekend!! Dan
Thank ya for watching Mr Ken and yes sir, the weather has been crazy over here, supposed to rain all the way to Sunday lol!! Have a good un my friend!!! Dan
Wow, that sounds like some unique looking chopping boards ya make there sir, this Rebel unit will definitely get that brass shiny and squeaky clean!! Thank ya for watching and commenting, welcome to the channel, have a great weekend!! Dan
Thank ya for watching and commenting Mr Todd, welcome to the channel!! That's a Mighty Armory Magnum universal decapping die and yes sir, it's rugged lol!! I preciate ya stopping by the channel, have a great weekend!! Dan
FYI, if you're using walnut shell media for dry tumbling, check the pest stores. They sell that stuff for lizard terariums (it looks like sand) way cheaper than sporting good stores sell it for dry cleaning media... ..same stuff!
Thank ya for watching and commenting Mr Matt and yes sir, I've used the lizard litter in the past and you're 10000% correct, works like a charm!! Have a good Thursday my friend!! Dan
Thank ya and I thank ya for watching and commenting, welcome to our community and the channel!! Come back and visit when ya can, have a great weekend!! Dan
"Ole Dan always doing something..... like.... cleaning brass" 😂. That made me laugh! Seriously, that is some major process you got going. Nice! Is the next generation interested in continuing this process. You're recycling and using things wisely. Isn't Lake City ammo produced near Kansas City, MO? Be careful! And have fun.
Thank ya for watching and commenting Mr David, welcome to our community and the channel!! Yes sir I do rinse my brass in cold water, I thought that was in the video. If ya look at my thumbnail, my brass is sitting in a RCBS media separator, that's what I rinse my brass in!! Preciate ya stopping by the channel, have a great weekend!! Dan
I use the following: Lemi-Shine (1 tsp) - Walmart Simple Green (2 tsp) - Walmart White Vinegar (2 tsp) - Walmart Tap water - Faucet Lyman 2500 - 480 seconds Adjust for how dirty your brass is.
Thank ya for watching and commenting sir, welcome to the channel!! Sounds like a good mixture of components to get your brass clean, you using pins or shavings in your tumbler? Dan
Thank ya for watching and commenting Mr Mark, welcome to the channel sir!! That's a Mighty Armory universal Magnum decapping die, if I'm not mistaken, there on sale right now!! I preciate ya stopping by the channel, come back and visit!! Dan
Too complicated just run it through a tumbler resize then prime and reload those babies ! I found that a slightly dirty primer hole holds on to the primer much tighter after several reloads the primer holes get a little bigger and a little dirt keeps them tighter !
