Great video. Really wished I had watched it before changing the alternator on my Focus. That tip about putting the inside alternator mounting bolts into the bracket first would have saved me a lot of grief!
Thanks for the video I changed mine on my 1.6 tdci you make it look easy got to the end of removing it but realised that I didn't have a 16 mm spanner. finished it the day after your video helped me alot. Thanks O'Riley 👍
I never buy a new altenater I just replace the bushes, once we was in the middle of nowhere and alt packed up I got some bushes out of a old vacuum cleaner and bodged them in and it worked for year's 😊
I have a focus that keeps cutting out with power steering malfunction as it the battery is flat. Car starts when jumped but dies shortly after. Also car electrics been playing upbsuch as radio not working at times and rear demister. Does this sound like could be alternator related. Thanks
Have to do this on my 20210 Mazda 3, basically the same, throttle body is a bit different. 160,000 miles so will change the belt and tension pully while I'm at it. Thanks for the instruction.
Same as the Citroen c4 Picasso absolute pain in the arse the first time I done one I tried to take the bottom bolt right out only to discover it didn’t need to what a total dodo 😅
The 1.8 petrol zetec alternators are ten times worse you’d be better taking the feckin engine out even with engine mount and torque reaction link removed it’s still a tight squeeze to get it out from the back of the engine quality Ford engineering ehhh
