Well my LW3 decided to start randomly slam tilt today. The Karate kicker will kick a couple of times sometimes a pop bumper and then go into slam tilt.. so I've got some more work to do.. of course me and the wife just closed on a house this week and have moving to do! Couldn't be worse timing!
Darn real life getting in the way of real slam tilt issues lolol. That is an interesting one. You think switch matrix issue involving the slam tilt switch?
@@pinballshenanigans I was reading in Pinwiki and it said the playfoeld hanger screws can back out and interfere with the trough switch.. which makes sense considering I can't get it to go into slam tilt with the playfield raised or sitting in the service position.. but when I lower the playfield it will happen pretty quickly after that
That small spring is correct according to the manual but I did stick in a longer one as the issue was mechanical afterall and not electrical! I think the plunger got magnetized.

Looks like .ore trouble shooting. Excited to see possible fixes. Newbie here. I have a few questions. Is there a readily available catalog of schematics on the interwebs. Or should I be buying vintage booklets just for repairs?
@@pinballshenanigans Thank you Mike. I'm hoping the "world tour" is as advertised, checking it out this week. If all is good, it may be my first pinball machine 😄
Also, I'm looking at a local cabinet soon. A "Al's garage band goes on a world tour" seems like a neat spinning ramp was in a old flyer. Any one play or see one before? Thanks friends
The orientation of the coil leads to the lugs is not important. The orientation of the diode to the lugs is not important. What IS important is the orientation of the 2 wires to the diode. One color must go the banded end and the other to the non-banded end. Look at adjacent coils to see how this should be.
Stern released updated ROMS for most games as they improved and fixed code issues! So mine is on an old code and does not have the final released code!
Unintended funny line from you Mike......'we'll see what happens and I'll be back'.......you make your own easter eggs!!
Haha I think I realized that after I said it lol. That was a pun not intended but worked out lol
Nice job done on that connector, always nice to have nice conecting to that pins on board...
Thanks brother! Much better!

@@TiltingT ahh nice find
Solenoid need a full length spring?
I agree. The current spring looks much smaller and I think it is allowing the coil to lock up.

I will have to check mine out- working fine now.

Haha yep always! There sure is. Most are posted here... www.ipdb.org/search.pl

Never seen one. Only 1000 made DMD game. Very cool!
I think the newer code may make that up-post at the orbit do what your video shows.........
Ahh right that might be the difference!
Testing that VUK with the playfield up is not a proper test. Gravity is a big factor in returning the plunger in that coil.
Very good call on that!

Ok cool though so thanks Jim!
Code?
