Embroiderer and embroidery digitizer are just some of the persons who might encounter in the industry of embroidery. In some way, they have similarities since both of them are into the art of designing a garment or fabric using thread and needle. The embroiderer is the person responsible for directly sewing the designs on the fabrics or clothes with or without a sewing machine. The embroidery digitizer on the other hand has a wider job scope than a typical embroiderer. Besides sewing the designs on the garment or material, the digitizer is also in-charge of providing digitized files especially if the designs to be embroidered are complex or intricate. They convert intricate logo or image needed for embroidery using a computer and embroidery digitizing software. The said software is provided with a specific design program that enables the user to easily create computerized embroidery design or stitch file, which will serve as a guide of embroidery machine setting up the artwork.
The job of an embroidery digitizer involves experimentation therefore, it is very important that he has the ability to solve problems that might be encountered while making the embroidery design. For instance, the thread color did not match to the color of digitized file, he should know how to handle things like this and able to think for alternatives. Aside from the ability to distinguish the right combination of thread color and stitch parameter, it is also necessary that the embroidery digitizer should have knowledge on fabrics. The most common cause of mistake that a digitizer often face while creating designs is wrong selection of fabrics. In choosing the fabrics to be use for embroidery, it is very important to consider the push and pull factor of the garment at the same time its limit strength. Failure to do so often results to poor quality artwork.

My french knots are needing work. They come out when I do the next french knot! I tried holding the knot in place while I do the next one, but the first one nearly always goes flat.
