Hi! I didn’t see polls, but honestly, with the living area and couch areas, I would switch them. 1. Because you need natural light when working, it just helps with sanity, or at least it helps me. And being by the window would be nice so you can take small breaks to look out. 2. TV glare. If you put the couch against the wall to the left where your desk is now, you can put the tv across from it there. That way you don’t get a window glare and you do get a cozy “nook” kind of feel. These are just personal preference ideas, but also I would face your desk towards your kitchen if you do choose this way, so you’re not staring at a wall. Let me know what you choose!
Also! For your room, if the rugs are a similar size, I think it would look great to center them both to meet under your bed so you get them each poking out on either side of the bed in a similar way
If you want to keep the same layout with the dining/living room set up, i’d put the couch in the middle of the room facing the window so it helps to divide the space into two rooms and then the credenza can go against the wall or in front of the window (it may block the windows a bit on both sides though). It’s definitely going to be a space you’ll need to arrange furniture in a few times before getting it right. Once all the furniture arrives it’ll also be easier for you to visualize where the pieces should go.
I would personally put the office by the window just because it think that would make a better work environment and maybe even a darker "theatre'" setting for your movies. Whatever you do will look great. Your place is so amazing! I love your videos btw:)
Agreed! The desk would be perfect against the wall that's right next to the window (I find that if my desk is facing the window, I get distracted, but a window on the side is nice).
My desk is next to a window and having light shining on me while I work is sooooooo nice n I highly recommend. If I were u I'd put the living room space further from the window n ur work space closer to it! That way if ur using ur projector/tv it'll be in the darker space too :) ps ily
Getting those LED strip lights that stick to the wall might be a good idea for your closet. You could stick them to the ceiling for overhead lighting and some connect to an app on your phone to change the color and turn them on and off!
This apartment is really nice, loved the kitchen, the open concept and how big the bedroom is. It's going really nice Jenny. You could make a video about living really alone. Hugs from Brazil.
Do you know why i love your youtube chanel the most? Its because you are ALWAYS authentic and you are never trying to please people. You just do what you like and its just simply beautiful
Being from Chicago ,I really became spoiled by having all my apartments be old and extremely charming. I once made the living room with gorgeous fire place and a bay window my bedroom. And then made the would be bedroom into a cozy den it had stained glass windows that turned the room into red and purple prisms everywhere. An iron spiral staircase off the kitchen with a pantry. Clawfoot tub. I'm now 50 and I moved to Nevada. My home is beautiful but new and NO more old world charm. So I have to be extra creative in my furniture and art. Lots of thrifting. I love your uniqueness Jenn. In your home and the way you dress. I never want my home to look like anyone else but me. I know that you are the same way. All your places have been absolutely gorgeous and that's how I found your channel originally. My suggestion is to have your workspace to the left and the rest the way you described exactly. You want the windows when u are entertaining and just lounging on the couch. More privacy when you are working. No distractions. Also nice place to use the large table top for dinning room/ office space
A great tip i’ve seen people doing for lighting (your closet lighting in particular) is buying pendant lights or sconces and putting puck lights in them that are battery/remote powered. Super good tip especially since your closet doesn’t have a power outlet
Omg the staircase is just like bridget Jones' apartment! Also this apartment is just all around gorgeous and is obsessed with it. I fully expect lots of more bomb food videos with that kitchen 😏
Wow you scored with your apartment it’s so spacious, with all the light and wall space for decor and shelfs! It’s coming together so well! Cant wait for the kitchen diy!
hi jenny! if you could fit your table/desk in that cutout spot in the living room. and have your couch facing the larger wall (especially if you plan on using a projector) i think this would work best because you would still get natural light when working but also won’t be staring at your tv and couch when trying to work and procrastinate work by watching tv or relaxing. i LOVE your new space. it feels comfy and homey and like you belong there. i hope everything works out in your new space ❤️✨
your comment about making your space feel more home-y and permanent made me really reflect on how i treat my own space. so excited for more DIYs and seeing how this place comes together!!
Ahhh, I was waiting on this one!! I love the way you decorate. Since you get a lot of things second hand, it always makes me want to go thrift/vintage shopping to decorate my place. 💛
did you mention how much your apartment costs? I am amazed by how beautiful your apartment is and I am always curious as to how much something this stunning costs.
Woke up and felt anxiety coming because school is starting in two days again. Watched your video and felt better right away and now I feel really put together and whole. Thank you for that ❤️ really appreciate your videos, I don’t think you realise the impact you have on others, it’s so beautiful. Happy new year angelic person 🪐✨☄️💥
Table by the indow and the tv/couch where the table is. Table by the window means better light and view while you're working. The T.V will get serious glare if by the window. Love your videos!
I LOVE this apartment and your taste! I would put the office near the window to have natural lighting while you’re working, put the TV in the darker corner. Also, I love the bed centered between the two windows in the bedroom. Looks great Jenny
Definitely put the tv where you were thinking with the couch facing in that direction, I would also suggest putting your desk against the wall so that there is more space and your chair can be pushed in when not in use!
i think it would be cool if you got a shelf/shelves next to your desk so you can move your desk things to a designated place when you want to use it as a dining table. love your apartment!!!
1. love the place its so beautiful 2. if you want more room in your closet in your bedroom you could always get a cheap dresser and store it underneath the hanging clothes so you could fold some shirts and not have everything so crammed 3. i think the way your living room is going to be set up makes the most sense. However, what looks like its an old fireplace that has been filled and has created a funky wall coming out towards the left, if you are able to put a TV on the wall i think that would be really cool. That is if the TV is the right size for the wall but if that doesnt work I love what your current plan is! 4. you have amazing natural light, it might be fun to add a disco ball in the kitchen or living room! 5. I like the two rugs in your bedroom, very cute but if you want to change it up, (im not sure if this would fit the new table dimensions) but you could put underneath the dining table and create an even more cozy vibe. 6. for more storage, you could always try choosing a coffee table or media console that goes under the TV so you could store some of your work things in there so your stuff isn't always on the dining room table since you said you want to keep this place more organized! just some suggestions but the aprtment looks amazing and I'm excited to see what you do with it! :)
I would put the long table over by the nook in front of the window where you were thinking to do the credenza. It’s so nice to work in the natural light and then also have a view when your having dinner! And then put the tv/credenza along the wall where the dining table is now and have the couch facing that. Hope that make sense!
If you end up getting a new coffee table for the living room, you should think of getting a round sort of low one at which you can use your stackable stools when you please. The geometry will create different line work that I think will add some softness to the room amongst the other lines that work in the room beautifully
What could maybe safe some space is if you were to get like a nice vintage bench and have that against the wall for the seating on one side of your table and then just chairs on the other side! It can look really nice and can make the room layout easier 🥰
Love love love!!! Those shelves on the fridge are too cute! Also I highly recommend putting a little mirror up on one of your coffee shelves in the kitchen! It creates an illusion of a window and more space! ✨✨✨
A short, long bench where the baskets currently are in the entry way might be a nice way to add function to that space! Hide shoes underneath and catch all/storage baskets on top!
You may need to use a smaller bit on your drill when you’re placing your wall anchors! I find that hammering in my wall anchors so that they are tight always gives me a better hold! I LOVE this apartment so much!!!
Wow that is such an amazing space and could not look more typical for NY! It must be so expensive! Personally, I am the opposite of your style wise but I love how you styled everything (so far, I am happy to see updates). I think your living room idea is good! It seems to make sense to ut the tv where you pointed, and if the couch is right behind the butcher block it separates the space more. Perhaps you could put another of these huge plants next to the couch and a big standing lamp (one of those that curls a bit and has a big bulb for example) to create a clear line of entertainment and kitchen. Just pay attention to where the sun hits, so that you work area and tv are not at a weird angle where you get glares
For your living room/office/dining, I would put the dining table/ work table near the windows, because when You're working you can look out the window sometimes to take a lil mental break and have something to look at, and the couch and stuff on the other side because then it'll be farther form the window so you won't get glare! idk if that would work but I like to have a window to look out when I'm working lol
Your idea about the couch sounds perfect to me! This is how I would also put my furniture. Because this way you could also watch tv while you cook. Go for it Jenny! 😊
Okay hi hello. For the living space i think the most effective layout would be to place your work desk against the wall near the 'left' window and make that a little work nook. Put your couch in the middle of the room facing the wall near where the desk currently is and put the credenza and tv against that wall. Leaving some space behind the couch will allow you to put a book case back there or use it as a yoga/workout/outfit filming space with natural light. Also if you wanted to get a projector you can probably mount a shelf on the wall in between the windows and project it across the room (that would be so cool). :) i love redecorating my own space constantly and am so indecisive too. Love u xoxo.
I liked the non tour of your apartment! If I lived there I would put my work area by the living room windows with a lot of plants around me. Then I would put the couch and tv area in the area closest to your entry into the living room. I would put an area rug in front of the couch and put your books on shelves nearby. A coffee table in front of the couch and a comfy reading and watching TV chair adjacent. Art work throughout your living room into the office area! Music situation near the windows so it flows from the outdoor light, such as a turntable and records. Near your door you need a mirror before you head outside! I love your new place! Best wishes for the new year 🙏🏻❤️
I love to see how happy you look. I have moved once in the past five years and I hated it. Seeing you move so many times exhausts me just looking at it 😂 idk how you do it 👏🏽
Its hard to give suggestions without knowing the size of the items you have coming.. but! I think having the couch in the middle of the room facing the windows, with the TV between the windows would be great! That way, when you are on the couch you can look out the window, there is no glare on the TV and when you can finally have people over, your back isn't to the people who are in the kitchen :) plus I think it will allow for a little more space for an armchair or bar or whatever you might want against the wall you are currently thinking of for the TV.
I think a really cool way to use the living room space would be to put your tv in between the windows, put your couch centered in front of the tv ofc, and then put your desk right up against the back of the couch, that way the couch almost works as a separation for office space and living room, but you’re still facing the light. Idk if it would work but maybe try it?! ❤️
I relate so much to how you’re feeling about all the moving. I’ve moved like 4 times in 2 years and I’m so over it! Just found my “permanent apt”. I live in Brooklyn too! Recommendation [if you need storage or some kind of organizer thing] • IKEA trones are great for storage. They hang on the wall and you can put anything in them. I think they’re for shoes but I store a bunch of stuff in them. They’re cheap too. •
I love your new space! I feel like a projector for you would be a good investment because it can display a way bigger screen than a tv which is good for when friends are over. Also they don’t take up space like a tv.
Oh! idea! Put the couch in the middle of the room facing the double windows and maybe, hopefully your TV & credenza would symmetrically align on that wall and then you could connect your table to the back of your couch? It may not work, but it would be something cool to try and help utilize all of your space and not make your separation too choppy! Good luck, big fan :)
personally i would put an L shape couch and put the tv against the wall, the L shape couch might help you creating a divider between two spaces, and for the other space i'll make it a dinner-office, maybe trying a bench against the dinning wall, a long vertical table, and put a gallery wall behind it.
hi! id put your desk where the credenza would go, and put your credenza/tv where the desk is. and have the couch face that wall instead of the wall next to the window!
Kinda weird but hear me out Put the sofa along the centre of the room facing the windows with the table along the back of it and chairs etc on the other three sides then you have a physical divide between the sections and when youre on the couch you cant see your work space which will clear your mind of work, then put the tv unit as a corner situation near the windows and youll still have loads of floor space 🧡🧡
Your new lil home is beautiful! I would maybe put your couch facing forward towards the windows with back of the couch to the office space so it creates a sort of imagined wall between the desk/office section, with the TV against the section of wall between the windows! x
it's 9 a.m. from where you live, you just came from your first walk at the park, your dog is happy and so are you and to keep the good vibes you just rest a little bit and watch jenny's new video
This apartment is so cute!! The staircase looks kind of quaint in a way, so nice! Hope to live in a nice apartment like this one day. Hope you figure out a good layout for your living room!
i think the big table in the living room might look good next to the windows and maybe put a pendant light above, then put the couch against the wall to the other side of the room and also put another pendant light lol the TV mounted on that fireplace wall would look good toooo
One idea would be to put the couch along the long table facing the windows. You could still have room to put chairs all around the table. And then put the little cabinet with games on it on the big wall with statement art piece. But I also like the idea of putting the couch as a separator.
keep the stuffing. it always compresses and you will need more. also please be careful of the stuff on the shelf over the stove. that spot will get a lot of focused steam/heat/oil/food spatters so I would avoid put anything there that is a fire hazard or that hangs down or that you wouldn’t want damaged. take care!
I loved how the space is looking so far! I don’t think it’s bad to have the couch in the way you were thinking, I would suggest to make sure there are enough outlets on the side you want to have your work space in. I’m so happy to see you flourishing in this beautiful space ❣️
definitely would do what you already plan to - makes the most sense and still leaves the spaces open (especially with the kitchen island counter and some stools)
omfg!! your new place is SO cute!! i love the staircase!! I love the windows!! great lighting!! great kitchen!!! amazing find and you're doing such a great job decorating!!! *chefs kiss*
We love a strong and independent woman :) the amount of serotonin your videos give me is way too intense! I’m legit gonna to stand my ass up and decor my room right away ! Thanks for everything you add to our life 🤍✨
UGH I don't think TH-cam lets you set up polls anymore so um... let me know here what layout u think I should do.
Hi! I didn’t see polls, but honestly, with the living area and couch areas, I would switch them. 1. Because you need natural light when working, it just helps with sanity, or at least it helps me. I think the way you said in the video makes more sense! That wall nook looks perfect for the tv / credenza !

I agree! I found that natural sunlight is encouraging but also helps me stop working at the end of the day.
Agree!
Agreed! The desk would be perfect against the wall that's right next to the window (I find that if my desk is facing the window, I get distracted, but a window on the side is nice).

you must have found one of the nicest looking apartments! So much lighting and so much space!
Getting those LED strip lights that stick to the wall might be a good idea for your closet. You could stick them to the ceiling for overhead lighting and some connect to an app on your phone to change the color and turn them on and off!
yes! but also do ur research on good ones cause some attract spiders and that’s just an extra problem ;)

Idk if it would work but maybe try it?! ❤️
i think your lay out is pretty good , i would also add a bench behind the sofa where you can put plants and small decoration.
Umm this is so cool... where is your bedside globe light from it gives off such a nice light :0
Or if anybody else knows? I will love them forever
I love how cozy and funky your new place is 😍
It’s small yet intimate, and the old building features are so unique! That staircase is to die for!
I relate so much to how you’re feeling about all the moving. I’ve moved like 4 times in 2 years and I’m so over it! Just found my “permanent apt”. I live in Brooklyn too!
Recommendation [if you need storage or some kind of organizer thing]
• IKEA trones are great for storage. They hang on the wall and you can put anything in them. I think they’re for shoes but I store a bunch of stuff in them. They’re cheap too.

didn't want this video to end!! so happy for you xo
The best way to stay organized is to have less stuff. Not to say you have a lot of stuff, but to minimize to your comfort level.
Jenny would love a video on budget and finances, would love to see how you afford your lifestyle etc ❤️
that's on my list! also want to do one from when I was younger in NYC and how I afforded it then! stay tuned and thanks for suggestion!
personally i would put an L shape couch and put the tv against the wall, the L shape couch might help you creating a divider between two spaces, and for the other space i'll make it a dinner-office, maybe trying a bench against the dinning wall, a long vertical table, and put a gallery wall behind it.
hi! id put your desk where the credenza would go, and put your credenza/tv where the desk is. and have the couch face that wall instead of the wall next to the window!
The sunlight in the kitchen is a dreeeeeam
OMG OMG OMG absolute dream apartment!! that slanted ceiling is EVERYTHING and that kitchen is so gorgeous!!
Kinda weird but hear me out
Put the sofa along the centre of the room facing the windows with the table along the back of it and chairs etc on the other three sides then you have a physical divide between the sections and when youre on the couch you cant see your work space which will clear your mind of work, then put the tv unit as a corner situation near the windows and youll still have loads of floor space 🧡🧡
Your new lil home is beautiful! I would maybe put your couch facing forward towards the windows with back of the couch to the office space so it creates a sort of imagined wall between the desk/office section, with the TV against the section of wall between the windows! x
Do as you suggested! It makes more sense to have the dinning table when you first enter the room.
Stick on LED track lights! I use them in closets and lining under my kitchen cabinets. Love them!
it's 9 a.m. from where you live, you just came from your first walk at the park, your dog is happy and so are you and to keep the good vibes you just rest a little bit and watch jenny's new video
so cool u found this place am happy for you be your amazing self
Im moving to new york soon and have been feeling nervous but this got me so excited and ready!!! thank you!! your apartment is amazing good job
This apartment and your furniture/decor are an absolute dream! So happy for you ❤️
One idea would be to put the couch along the long table facing the windows. You could still have room to put chairs all around the table. And then put the little cabinet with games on it on the big wall with statement art piece. But I also like the idea of putting the couch as a separator.
Your SWEET ANGEL energy is everythinggggg. So happy for you & can't wait to see your place come together ❤️
keep the stuffing. it always compresses and you will need more. also please be careful of the stuff on the shelf over the stove. that spot will get a lot of focused steam/heat/oil/food spatters so I would avoid put anything there that is a fire hazard or that hangs down or that you wouldn’t want damaged.
Back to work today after being off for 10 days for christmas. The fear is real but a 20 min video helped me a lot 🧡🧡🧡
Loving your space so far! You definitely have a touch for decorating and creating a comfy home no matter where you go!

the build-in wardrobe in the kitchen is a dream
this inspired me to decorate more ! also, i recommend putting ur workspace near the windows for the natural light
This is the most excitement I’ve felt in a long time 😍😍
