Brilliant vid. I'm guilty of everything you've shown, bar holding pads wide. I didn't really notice till I just watched this haha. Keep up the great content.

I’m guilty of trying complex combos with beginners. I think it’s because I think that’s what they want. The flashy stuff. I’m learning how to hold mitts for fitness clients, it’s very different then holding for experienced fighters.

totally, i think with beginners, it’s good to throw 1 or 2 new techniques in each session and then slowly start introducing basic flows with those new techniques and gradually build up the complexity every few sessions

I've been guilty of most of them, this is a great short video to watch to remind me! Am a retired fighter who never really held mitts for others, now trying get hang of it to train grandsons, and my damn shoulders can't handle the pounding. The reminder to hold the mitts in closer is a good one.

Use different pads for power, don't allow your boxer to unload on your micro pads and paddles are a great tool as well.

That mistake is hurting my left elbow, when Im checking hooks on mitts, I dont know if it is because my technique or im not that strong to pad the punch or the boxer is just to strong. As a martial artist I was too used to move around the ring because I did not want to get hit; Im not longer going to dance with my students 😂while doing mitts. Thank you so much for these details 👊🏻🇨🇴

Also, the occasional jab, straight or cross with the mitts. First rule of boxing, of course it’s not 100% slapping them to the ground but I would be setting a fighter up to fail if I am not teaching this. Sure they learn how to throw a great punch but not the first rule.
