- Laurie Force received the Pat Garlits Memorial Award on Thursday March 17, 2016 during the International Drag Racing Hall of Fame banquet. This was the tribute video Ashley Force Hood put together to honor her mother. Great insight from Ashley, Brittany Force, Courtney Force and of course Laurie's husband John Force.

Behind every great family is the matriarch and Laurie Force is definitely that. What an up and down world she endured and yet persevered to raise such classy girls. You done it right!

Very happy to see Laurie Force receive this award. Ashley did a fantastic job putting this video together to honor her mother. I've been watching John Force since 1988, Courtney was not here yet. There will never be another John Force, such a great family.

She deserves a lot more recognition and respect
and she is the reason why Team Force races she is the rock that holds them together.
Pretty cool John's wife got the recognition that is much deserved. Love watching John and his girls race, always hoping for them to win.
it is well deserved she is the rock that holds them together she is the reason why they race. With out Laurie cheering them on Team Force is nothing they are there to race for her she is the matriarch of their team and their family they do everything for her. As long as Team Force wins or gets in the Top 10 she is impressed. One thing she does not like is Team Force drivers getting in a crash, John being set on fire, DSR insulting their family, Don sending death threats on Fox, Team Force being sabotaged, or her daughters, her grandbaby's, or John getting hurt and sent to the hospital. We know what happened Laurie was there 6 drivers were killed including Kaletta and Medlin who raced with them, sabotage in the pits and on the track by DSR put John in the hospital and this scene was dramatized on Right on Track, Driving Force, and was shown live the day it happened, she watched the brawl in the pit as Danny, Tony, Austin, and Jimmy confronted DSR after John's crash with Enders and Ashley watching the event unfold, Courtney and Ashley were set on fire and their funny cars blew up, Brittany got in six bad wrecks four on the street and two on the track, and she watched as John's rivalry with DSR destroyed her marriage. Here are things that turned it around: 1. John got Jimmy, Austin, and Cunningham back, 2. Ashley married Danny and they have two sons Jacob and Noah who are the best Jr. drivers on the Supercomp circuit, 3. Danny got promoted he is now John's crew chief and Ashley is now a movie director (yes she made this video so like and subscribe), 4. her step granddaughter Autumn she just graduated to A Fuel and she is following in her aunties footsteps by the end of 2024 Autumn will be in Top Fuel and Team Force will have 4 drivers again, and 5. Courtney married Graham and had little Harlan and soon Harlan will be making her start in this family we call Team Force. Harlan is a baby now she has a long way to go on the NHRA ladder. Age Toddler battery powered toddler cars she will be in them until Age 3 when she transitions to soapbox which she will run until age 5. Age 5 Harlan will transition from Soapbox to go-cart she will run that for a year until she turns 6 and Pappa Force will build her her first racecar. Age 6. Harlan gets registered into the NHRA and steps into a gas powered Jr. dragster and makes her way up to Supercomp where Jacob and Noah are. Age 16 Harlan gets her license and goes to Frank's Driving School and steps into an A Fuel car she will be in this until she turns 19. Age 19 Harlan goes pro she can either fallow daddy or fallow her mamma her choice she can either drive an Indy car or hop in a Top Fuel dragster her choice I will see what she does in 19 years. Laurie is blessed she can say that a race team is her family and Team Force is.

Well deserved for sure. Laurie has been the epoxy that kept this family together on their wild ride of Professional Drag Racing and Life. She may be one of the best picks John made in his life. I remember those days when John Couldn't Fall out of a Tree. Laurie pitched in for the whole ride. Great Tribute.

Congratulations Laurie you are the rock that holds Force Racing together. Because of your support Team Force has won the most championships then any team in this nation. You supported John after he crashed in Dallas and helped him get back on his feet. You supported your daughters at every race. Without you Team Force is nothing you are the reason why they race. Congratulations.

I have watched you my life long. i have seen you cry on tv that you could not go on blowing up engines as you did. you have come a long way thanks to GODS grace . all i can say is GOD bless and be safe to you and your family i wish you and your family the very best.

My late brother in law raced against John years ago and always said John shared tips and tricks about racing with him all the time,
Even though they raced against each other. His name was the “ rapid rabbit “

Very cool. I've met John, years and years ago at two or three drags. Seemed to me John always knew who paid his way.......us fans. Of course I don't know your wife, but you sure seemed to have raised a flock of wonderful kids.
My dad Earl McDonald drag raced in the late 60's at Lions Drag Strip, he drove a blue 57 corvette called "Miss Conception" and a 55 Chevy called "The Sandman" and like Laurie my mom Beverly McDonald did a lot to help him, she packed the parachute (at 8 mos. pregnant w/my sister), drove the car that towed them to starting line and then drove to end of strip to towed car back to pitts after the race and anything else he needed help with. So hats off to all the wife's and girlfriends that stood by and helped their men do what they loved to do. My moms told us stories of them street racing, driving thru bean fields running from cops (by Old Susanna Road and I believe Victoria Rd in Long Beach). One time getting on frwy, (after cops show up) and dad forgot to hook the hood back down, mom was driving when the hood flew up and over car on to frwy, thank God there was only a couple cars there at the time and were not hit or that could have been a disaster. (Do not street race now, its dangerous! Find a track if you can, though not many left). Love that the whole family is in the racing business, I wanted and would have loved doing that, never got the chance. Good luck Force Racing and drive safe!!!!
John is the BEST! My wife and I will always be John's fans. At a very low part in my life with a medical issue. My wife took me to see John race at Vegas Motor speedway to cheer me up. We had never had the pleasure of meeting John until then. To make it short this man welcomed us complete strangers, he invited us into his work area and treated us like a king and Queen. John restored my faith in man kind. THANK YOU
You guys really are a part of the stuff dreams are made of..I would give everything up to do what you guys do!!

Met an auto parts store owner in Bell Gardens and hired John as.his parts truck driver when he was a kid.

Laurie, who was there when Brittany broke the land speed record 12 times? Laurie, who was there when Ashley got her first win and proposed to Danny? Laurie, who was there when Courtney got 150 Wins for Women? Laurie, who was there when John beat Capps in Seattle and got 150 Wins? Laurie, who was there when Autumn won Supercomp and Jacob won Jr. Dragster? Laurie, and who was there when Noah won the Four Wide? all those times it was Laurie she was there since the beginning. She deserves this award.
