Shar and Lolth also hate each other's guts, and Lolth is especially pissed at Shar because she took over the Underdark lol. I enjoy anything that upsets Lolth so Shar is much more okay in my book now.
I currently have an evil priestess of Shar as one of the BBEGs in my campaign. My delight in learning she has a secret order of sorcerer monks will be roughly equal to my player's dismay when I spring a group of assassin sorcerer monks on them while they sleep. Thank you for their tears in advance.
Funny enough I made a Monk/Warlock who used alot of Dark Magic (Long Death/ Undying). But now knowing about the Monk Sorcerers Shar has I might try and make one :D
Silvanus is based on Sylvanus, a latinized version of Selvans, an Eutruscan forest deity, originally a god of the hunt and wild places who under Roman worship became a protector of boundaries such as those that exist between civilization and the wild. A Druid or Paladin taking that tack might be interesting.
I have a drow cleric of Shar in my party! One of my favorite characters. The character isn’t very smart, however, and has convinced herself that Shar is just Lolth in disguise.
Right on time! Thanks for covering Silvanus, I’m building an oath of the ancients paladin and silvanus is a great god to worship! Keep up the awesome work!
In the 5e homebrew I'm running for some friends, the "big bad" I have set up for it is actually a Paladin who has taken the Oath of Conquest, and is undermining the very fabrics of Neverwinter on both a government level and metaphysical level, seeking to merge it with Evernight. Thus far, it's been going pretty good, very much "vampiric" type kinda' character--like the an ancient Ventrue from WoD in a sense by how she operates and conducts herself and goes about her machinations.
I'm trying to work in an unwitting priestess of Shar into my campaign as an NPC. The goal is to get her to join the party here and there, get them to trust and love her, tell her secrets, but for her to betray them somewhere down the line. The thing is, she doesn't know what drives her to cause strife and heartache, and I'm trying to think of what would be the ultimate betrayal she could possibly pull off.
Because of having seen Bladerunner 2049 too many times, every time you said "cells" when talking about Shar, I couldn't help but say "cells" or "interlinked back at my computer
I wonder, since the magical essence was ripped out of Seluné and tore through some of Shar, but created a neutral good deity, is Shar more powerful than Seluné?
i couldn't find it so figured I'd ask you. Do you know where Silvanus resides in 5e? It didn't turn up in my research. I know he used to be in the House of Nature but now I am unsure.
Dont be secretive about Shar Jorphdan... Lets talk about The Shadovars - The Shade Enclave, the real Shades the fallen human netherese ones and not the cheesy elven 5e stupid subrace. As my nick says, I'm to the Dark Lady ways. "I will take my vengeance in darkness and i'll be in her favor! I a Female Human, my name only know to the Lady of Loss. I'm a former Acolyte and now a Paladin who swore an Oath of Vengeance and I will uphold it by plotting my revenge in darkness against those Selunites that exiled and branded me heretic..." And thats a character!
Who else is here trying to sway or at least understand Shadowheart?
I AM!!
I feel called out lol
Yoo
Yes indeed, getting hyped for the release
Oh no shadowheart….

sillymonger player character tears: sustaining dungeon masters since 1974
Definitely a good reason to add the shadow-teleport feature of way of shadow to some NPC's

I have a Goliath paladin under this god
Silvanus is also a god from our world, being worshiped by the ancients Celts and early Britons.
And Selune is Selene of Hellenism. 🌚

You copied Viconia DeVir with a minor twist
The Holy Symbol of Shar makes me think of a top-down view of a cup of coffee :P

Thank you Jorphdan!
I’m just about to jump into a campaign as a dwarf mountain Druid who is being guided by Sylvanus.

Paladin of Shar
I am protecting the people from a Sun Burn XD
My neutral druids usually follow Silvanus

A Firbolg follower of Silvanus would work perfectly as a druid
Shar
Hmmm I wonder if Pikel Bouldershoulder is a druid of Sylvanas
Interesting vid. But I miss Kuldahar with the great oak.
would Silvanis be a aplicable diety for an Oath of the ancients paladin
This helped me alot
Great!
I love these vids. Can I request God's such as Torm or Tymora?
Soon!
“Your bitterness is sweet to the Lady”

So what is the difference between the portfolio of Silvanus and Mielikki? They seem quite similar
You forgot to mention shar is mask's mom.
Triratna So true that is a big spoiler... Dont tell anyone of her secret or you will get her wrath...
Now I wanna know more abouth it. Where did you find that out?
It was prior the sundering event, Erevis cale trilogy.
Not sure if it is a spoiler, now since it is written in the forgotten realm wiki.
Triratna technically it isn't a spoiler but... toying with the secrets of the God of Thieves and The Goddess of Secrets will get you in danger!
Lol :D
Baldurs Gate 3 is out
Silvanus 3:31
Thank you
If anyone else is here because of Baldur's Gate 3; don't trust Shadowheart anymore.
I know this was made a year ago, but why did you miss Sharess?
She wasn't mentioned in the Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide. Which is what I based my list off of.
the PH is not silent.

YASS
Sharks monk halfling
why did you put Shar against Silvanus?
it's better to put Shar against her sister Selune
Alphabetical
0:45 that picture does not look like a goddess of darkness. Looks like some warrior woman
