Really reminded me of my first play through of Firewatch where I had no clue what was going to happen, and people kept talking about bear attacks, and someone stalking them in the woods.
The "Fears to Fathom" really makes sense
The most disturbing part about this game is the way the guy in the parking lot was eating that burger lmfao 💀💀

Eating half a lasagna in bed was pretty spooky.
My grandfather worked on a fire lookout in the 80's up in the northern Canadian muskeg near Fort Mac - I can remember visiting him and grandma, who lived at the tower, he was a carpenter so it actually worked well for him, lots of free time to handcraft furniture and such. The deerflies and mosquitos are awful up there in the summer. My family was always in the forestry service - I grew up at a ranger station/staging grounds (few houses, lots of bunkhouses, out in the bush, dad was a ranger and they worked year round while the bunkhouses filled up in the summer with young guys who would get sent out to fight forest fires, usually picked up by helicopter). Heard some weird stories, like how my dad and another ranger were out on horseback in the bush and found a guy, who had apparently gone out, with a shotgun and... well, he wasn't intending to return.
Fort Mac area is absolutely chaotic and gives off the weirdest vibes. I wanted to go out there to work for a while but my uncle told me way too many weird stories.
i come from a family of railroaders, people looking to off themselves will walk on the tracks with headphones on blasting music and you can't stop the train because it's too heavy
Yeah, my other uncle has told several stories of that, thankfully he's never hit anyone - just wildlife. His sons are both with CPR, one has had too many close calls, mostly from that area, as well.

I saw it coming, but the people turning towards you when you take the picture is easily the scariest part of the whole game. 😱
BRUH, Silas made me JUMP more than any other "scary" jump scare has in all the games you've played
Yeah I'm normally the type who does the nervous laugh at all the jumpscares, but this is one of the very few that actually made me jump, and I dont even know why...

Diner guy went in the bathroom, and was gone if Jack goes back in. Silas somehow snuck out of the diner bathroom, and hitched a ride in the RV bathroom.

That cult feels dangerous and you know you should stay away, but you feel safe because you're just watching them from afar thinking they won't notice you.
But the moment they spot the flash from your camera, everything changes. The only place you feel "safe" in the entire game is now a target to an entire cult because they saw you. And they're all coming.
if this was well made horror they wouldn't have random latvian car shop assets ruin the vibe of the game during the first half of the game lol

These Fears to Fathom games always make me unlock a new fear or resurface an old fear cause of now realistic they are in life. Makes me wanna go live on the moon or in space.
Until something realistic happens up there, like running out of oxygen or food. We're never truly safe 😭

Insym, I just want to thank you, for your frequent posting, length of posts, quality of posts and horror game selection. Kinda struggling right now, with life and job and school and shit and watching your videos (while helping me waste time lol) is really comforting and entertaining.

@@maxiboy4326 yep, he is a member of the cult that is the person jamming the toilet, he is also the person walking into the woods in the background when you meet billy at the gate! i think his appearances are these: Diner, RV (cant see), background of billy's shack, jumpscares you in your shack, and the ritual
he is also possibly the person that visits you during that night to leave the skull/murder you, but i can't know that one for sure :D

RV stands for recreational vehicle. It's a catch-all term for campers, winnebago's, and the like.
A camper is an RV that is towed behind a vehicle. A winnebago is a motorized camper.

I definitely feel like Creepy Firewatch stories should be a horror genre that needs appear more in games. It different and yet familiar.

I think he mentioned in one of his videos a while ago when the previous episode came out that the devs reached him out to do few lines for the next episode, but I compeletly forgot about that until I heard his voice. It was a surprise for sure, but a welcomed one.

I watched a couple other streamers play this, and it's so funny how I knew the jump scare was coming at 1:27:30 and I still managed to get jump scared by the game
My issue with this story is that why would the characters drop hints of taking photos as evidence that when you actually do, it was pointless as he never brought up the photos in the ending story? No one believes him yet he had the evidence. It was the driving factor of him getting run out. Also, he just sort of forgot about the lost hiker? He didn't look back and think "someone was whistling at him, like what i've been hearing, this is creepy and i should bring it up"
And also, the cultists seem to know the forest very well and have been keeping tabs on Jack and Tower 11 the whole time, so why would they set up a late night ritual so near and within viewing distance of the tower? And why were they surprised when they got caught? Are they stupid?
The suspense and the little hints of Silas/cultist being dropped here and there were great, but in terms of overall story it's not very strong or believable.
Some of it just has to do with how the game is made, the dev has said that some parts of the stories get overlooked when building the level around it.

fun fact (yes ik it took me 8 months to learn this) if you tell the lost hiker to go right his dead body is with the cultists behind the burning thing just, dead but if you tell him to go left his dead body isn't there (or the other way around i dont remember) so telling him to go left DID save him from lying lifeless on the floor :D
Dude, the random people jumpscares were hilarious! That was a lot of fun, love the jank of these games, but also love as you say the immersive moments of carrying out the everyday tasks of whatever role the person in the story has.

It was glorious watching Insym say, oh he’s north of my tower, after hearing he was heading west then promptly turn him left to go further north. Then argue with chat about where he was by assuming he was directly east of his tower. 🤣
I remember watching one of the horror story youtubers a few years ago talk about this and it was one of my favorite ones ive heard. I am glad that they have made a game on it.

55:35 I'm assuming the campers didn't bring their own picnic table either - trying to think within in the internal logic of the game I'm guessing it's meant to be a picnic spot but not an overnight staying spot for some reason? No idea why they'd make a picnic spot that you're not allowed to camp at, maybe because of fire risk being higher in that area. Either way they should definitely make the no camping sign much more obvious because most people would definitely assume they could camp at a picnic spot!
But also it's just kind of funny that apparently they keep finding abandoned camps in the woods and their reaction is "these darn ghost hunting vandals leaving their crap behind all the time" not "wow it's kind of weird that people keep just disappearing without any of their stuff, we should probably be concerned about that."
You could see that there are resemblances between this game and "Do you Copy". From where the story takes place, which is at watch Tower and helping a lost hiker, guiding them to safety to how both of them are related to Azazel.
I kept expecting the goatman to appear. xD

Never thought id enjoy the game this much. Those menial tasks like taking firewood for the fire every day, checking the weather, cooking the casorole, helping people out, the video games and the tutorials, they all breathed fresh life to the game as if you were the person living in that moment. Then slowly but surely the horror kicked in until you were chased by the cultist and ended the game.
Insym doing voice accents was not something I knew I needed. Please do more! Lol

I love this series and they're so well made but I kinda wish the gameplay was a lil less formulaic. all the games have the same pattern of mysterious noise, a little sneaking, get chased, escape
I'm 40 minutes into the video.. and just wondering if the horror part of this game is just the game itself. Nothing ever happens to Jack.. he just lays in bed every night hearing the smacking of cheeseburgers, and has nightmares of Ron Ross.
The game was good except at the end when the story forgot that the character you play literally has evidence of the cultists but not even his family believes him and it wasn't mentioned at all if he had lost the picture, so it's a huge plot hole.
It did solve the mystery of why their previous staff kept walking off the job though because if I got that reaction from my boss I'd quit on the spot too even I thought they might be right. It's a super vulnerable position to be in out there, you don't want to have any doubt that your coworkers will have your back.

As an American I tip based on the service. If service is good then I don't have any problem tipping and giving extra to who served. If service is bad then I tip a little or not at all. I won't tip if all you did was flip an iPad around. Like at Starbucks etc.
6:10 just a couple years ago usually it was just 10%-20% for a tip in the US. Now the lowest you can tip is like 20% and gives you options for 30%… it’s crazy

On the tips thing:
I have never heard of someone getting banned for not leaving a tip. Further, the idea is that you will give good enough service to the customers that they will give you a tip, and that would make up for the lower wage. Yes this is open to abuse, but I have known waiters and waitresses, and it was pretty common for them to bring home several hundred just in tips most nights.
Insym, I just want to thank you so much for posting this video. I have always wanted to do a temp job in a fire tower, being out in the woods with predators more dangerous than myself, all alone, in the unknown, ever since I was a little boy. I never realized that dream, but tonight I got to forget my real life for a little bit, and just live in the moment.
Maybe I'll still go live in a tower someday. I'm still young.

6:46 Yeah, but at the same time, they also have some of the darkest mysteries within them, just look up Missing 411 by David Paulides, some of those bizarre disappearances honestly make me fear the woods more than the ocean, I remember one time that I read a comment relating to Missing 411 and they said that one time that a park ranger told them to never under any circumstances go out into the woods, not in a group, not alone, day, night, even if you are experienced with nature, or anything like that, they don't even know what lies within the woods, but whatever it is, it's not normal, and it might be the culprit behind the strange disappearances of Missing 411, even though David doesn't take a stance as to what is causing these disappearances, but it's implied that there is something *hunting* humans inside of these national parks in North America, absolutely terrifying...

As someone who lives in The United States and strongly dislikes it, you do not get kicked out or banned from a food place for not tipping 20-30%. 10-15% is widely acceptable as a tip.
Exaggerate - represent (something) as being larger, better, or worse than it really is.
I've never before seen anyone claim that tipping as low as 10% was acceptable -- it's more acceptable than not tipping at all, but 20% is the norm.

The first two episodes were pretty creepy. This one, imho, did not do as much to BUILD tension. Like there were tense moments but not tension building with payoff.. I mostly felt at ease watching this game up until the part with the camera flash (there was also a creepy shadow at night that was effective). But even after that it just felt like the danger was low when all you have to do is hide under the bed.. besides that, the game had a pretty cozy atmosphere. I do enjoy the aesthetics of the FTF series. Hoping the next episode knocks it out of the park!
I think I notice little things that build some tension too, like how firewatch tower operators keep disappearing from the list.
Really enjoyed the TH-cam stream like Twitch, literally here after the multi stream.

These games are so cool when you're from the area. I went to school and grew up in/around Roseburg, Oregon and recognize a bunch of the names in the beginning like the Gold Creek Trail. So very cool XD

Just here to provide insight on US tipping details:
1. 15-20% is typical
2. You will not be kicked out or banned for not tipping
3. Tips are rounded when using cash likely. It is otherwise is easy to do whatever precision with credit card
4. Most machines now calculate percent tip and charge it exactly for you
5. I at least tip more than 20% for haircuts, given the task
6. Inflation indeed sucks here and probably has everyone questioning tipping in general
We tipped a boy once, the job he worked at was short staffed and he was frustrated and when we tipped him he was happy. He kept saying “oh my god”. He was probably a high school age too.
That was the WORST southern accent I’ve ever heard in my life. 10/10.
