An absolute national treasure as an actor and your connection with him made it feel as if I were eavesdropping on a private conversation. Bravo👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
When I was younger I watched Lady in the Water over and over. Everyone else hated it but I was in love with it. And after that, I made sure to watch every Paul Giamatti movie I could get my hands on. This dude is awesome
Paul Giamatti has been looking so happy, healthy, and handsome these last few years. I'm so happy for him that he can immensely enjoy his profession. I know he's an atheist, but I feel like he was meant to be an actor for some reason. I really think his upbeat, charming, sweet and likable nature is why he still remains very popular to this day. He was incredible in "American Splendor" and "The Illusionist" movies. 💘
Rhino is my favorite spider man villain from the movies. He may not have a lot of time in the film but Paul Giamatti had so much fun with what he got and I feel that energy whenever I rewatch that film. I also really wanted Paul to return for a spider man movie and see him fight Andrew again.
Paul is deserving of a lifetime achievement award. Everytime he is cast in a movie, he is the standout. And whay he did in HBO John Adams with Laura was beyond 101 acting school. Paul and Laura are in the iconic status. The only other peeps that are with them are Del Toro, Streep, Diane Keaton, Jackson, Matthew, D Day, Chaplin, Keaton, Pheonix, Bale, D Niro, Devito, Pesci, and a list that is not your pick of the week. Paul gave us characters for decades. Lets give some appreciation back to a guy humbly having us enjoy characters no good looking crap actor would. On that note. Paul Giamatti is gorgeous. And he is lucky to have a great family that has nothing to do with the Kardashians.
He is such a great actor from his small supporting roles to his main roles that is difficult to single them out. On his supporting roles, Joe Gould in Cinderella Man, Pig Vomit in Private Parts, and Ralph in Saving Mr Banks stand out. His first big lead in Sideways was so good. He makes everything he is in better.
I didn't know Paul Giamatti was going to be interviewed by you Josh but last night I randomly chose ( as I do every night) a BD from my shelves and this time I chose Cinderella Man , such a treat of a movie , Paul Giamatti is probably one of the best actors , if not the best actor, in the world! Thank you Josh , you did it again !
The Holdovers is the best movie since A Christmas Story, Home Alone, Elf and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. If anything, it might be the best of them all. The ending nails a sincerity and distance. It felt real because it happens. Christmas is a stressful time and we do some irrational things. But as this story shows, we can grow better from the adversity. I love this movie 10 out of 10
I'm always shocked no one asks him about "American Splendor," which was a major indie hit of 2003 and put PG out front - and came out the year before "Sideways"! But it was fun, here, to hear him talk about his love for the orangutang makeup in Planet of the Apes. Great podcast, boatloads of fun all the way through.
the hell...that was an EXCELLENT interview, completely out of left field..but yeah, Paul is always a selling point for me personally, and oh man, The Holdovers was such a beautiful surprise of a movie. Loved the setting, the entire filmmaking of it, and how devoid of moronic cliches it was, hugely recommend it.
Green Book, The Artist, Life is Beautiful, Hidden Figures, Appollo 13, Dance with Wolves, Downfall, John Adams, Band of Brothers, The Pacific, Das Boot, 42, Chaplin, American Graffiti, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, the legend of Buscemi in Boardwalk empire, Trainspotting, everything Star Trek seeing 40 years beyond conspiracies and flat earthers. Dont ask Paul about conspiracies. He deserves respect. He has worked and lived a real life. Bless his soul and ensure he and his family live a good life away from us numbskulls.

Paul is the Brock Purdy of cinema. We are so happy to have both of them win or lose.

That he is!
He also guested on Downton Abbey and was great on it.
