Few more beginner tips, maybe some a little bit advanced: 1.) Trade Agreements. Get them with as many factions you can (that you don't plan on going to war with). These can double your income per turn, and you have zero military obligations to the factions you are trading with, other than not attacking them. 2.) Do NOT group your units too closely together. The AI likes to do this, but you should always spread all of your units out a little bit for a few reasons. a.) It makes units a little bit easier to see and control when in combat. b). It makes you hard to flank and c.) It prevents your entire army from being decimated by certain artillery and magic. Which brings me to my next tip: 3.) Magic! Understanding how and when to use magic, and how the winds of magic works, is definitely an advanced mechanic. But as a TWW3 player, you NEED to learn this. Magic can and will single handedly turn the tide of battles time and time again, and it is not uncommon to see wizards with 400+ kills after every battle. TL;DR: If you can put a wizard type hero in your army, do it. It is always worth it. Which brings me to my LAST tip: 4.) Heros! Heros are single entity units that can be placed in an army or used on the campaign map for functions your lord wouldn't do. Heros have MANY functions, but all heros level up just like your lords. They are incredibly versatile and can make both campaign and battles easier. Some heros can even destroy enemy cities without a battle (on the campaign map, looking at you Lord Kroak). They take up a unit slot in your army, but usually they are a worth it to place in your army as most of them are both potent in battle and buff your army in some way. I have over 3500 hours among the TW:WH games, and I think that covers most of the basic stuff. If I missed anything, please let me know. Have fun!
@Elijah-mc7db honestly Fextralife is a really good youtuber, I've watched his elden ring videos for a year now. If he sticks with it I think he can probably make some good stuff for Tw:W3 too.
One thing to consider when making trade agreements or generally while exploring is that you will discover new hostile factions. Generally not a problem unless you're playing as someone with a lot of legendary lords nearby.
@@donkarnage6986 You're joking right now, right? Blobing is a terrible idea. All it takes is one vortex spell or a powerful artillery piece and your army is toast.
Still a bit rough on some edges, but the Total War Warhammer series has been a blast for me too throughout those years. Wouldn't mind "wasting" another 1000 hours in the next few years.
Instead of focusing on money, you should instead focus on growth since it is the basis for everything. Growth bring more money, more control, more buildings so more money , etc ...
Now that there are tons of mods in the workshop I've been enjoying the game more. There are some seriously fleshed out characters and overhauls, visual tweaks, and lots of ways to add more flavor to the game. I love legendary texts, point of interests, landmarks of legend, Legendary Characters, mixu's Legendary lords, Ovn series, Rotblood, Pestilens etc etc
Well... Disbanding units is double edged sword. AI looks at your army/faction strength. If they think you are weak, they will bully you or attack you. So it's quite improtant to have big armies in the game. Diplomacy of bigger army is always right is kinda bread and butted in TW series.
Yeah, if you want all the races and units you have to purchase the past 2 games and dlcs. But the base game already has plenty of content, so I only recommend you doing that if you enjoy the game.
game 3 you get, khorne, nurgle, tzeentch, slaanesh, demons, cathay and kislev, game 2 you get skaven, lizardmen, high elves and dark elves, game 1 you get empire, bretonnia, greenskins, vampires and dwarfs everything else is behind their respective dlc
@@ZanderSabbag I'm new to the series, but from what I understand the game is already pretty complete without any DLC. Content is locked behind factions so I'm going to simply purchase whichever one intrigues me the most or whichever one has the most interesting mechanics added
Cathay is not a good place for new players, and that ying and yang system isnt fun... AND you have skaven, dark elves and lizards and chaos after you from the very start... How can you recommend that?
One important tip: skip Realms of Chaos, play Immortal Empires. RoC almost killed the game in the months leading up to IE. Even after some updates it's still meh at best.
bro why the F is this so overpriced, its 60 bucks for the base game then every dlc that adds like 5 things is 10 bucks each, and a new race dlc 19-25 bucks the game looks fun but this aint worth the price
The trick is not to buy all DLC only get the ones you need for the race you want to play as. The game will have all the races and units anyway DLC only unlocks them for you to use. So if you wait for a sale you can get the entire trilogy for very cheap. That way you have all the base races from all games in TWW3 plus immortal empires and the campaigns for those races. Once you figure out who you want to play the most buy that DLC. I really like Dwarves so I got the Trilogy, plus DLC: King and the Warlord, and Thrones of Decay: Dwarfs. Hope this helps, good luck
I was playing count noctilus and i did the quest batle first thing i died. Noctilus resurrected steped on land immediately a elven 20 stack rocked my shit. This game sucks ass. Don't play it. This guide didn't help

@Elijah-mc7db I personally prefer to not manually aim arty, but it can definitely be useful

Blobing is some of the most effectiv way to deal with the enemy..
And every player know 3 and 4?
@@donkarnage6986 You're joking right now, right? Blobing is a terrible idea. All it takes is one vortex spell or a powerful artillery piece and your army is toast.
Most important tip: Immortal Empires over Realms of Chaos campaign.
RoC is... disappointing. I mean some factions like Cathay are fun. But others like Tzeentch are boring at best and annoying at worst.
RoC is good for beginners because it's more guided. Personally I tried going straight from prologue to IE and I got overwhelmed.

Ah, a first time player then?
I actually really enjoyed realms of Chaos as Kislev, and then later as the Warriors of Chaos.
IE is dogshit
Probably my favourite game ever.
Still a bit rough on some edges, but the Total War Warhammer series has been a blast for me too throughout those years. Wouldn't mind "wasting" another 1000 hours in the next few years.
Such an incredible game.
Rlly high learning curve but it’s rlly fun best rts I’ve played so far and a best warhammer game too
Seriously, I cannot suggest this game enough! It is incredible!!!

This is very useful for a total ignorant of these kinds of games like me
Absolutely love the game, and so glad to see you're covering it in your impressive style!
3000 hours across all three games. Favorite game series ever.
And Chaos Dwarfs dropping next month 😁
@@Mrdoughlicious trailer was sick!
Wtf are you doing on a beginner guide dude
Hyped that you guys are covering TWW3!

Just picked it up off steam, even bought some dlcs to go with it lol
nice timing, exactly what i needed thanks^^

Something about speaking softly and carrying a big stick?
Bread and butted... big butted? Nutted? ✨
I learned the hard way what ignoring diplomacy can do.
I’m sure everyone will agree with my diplomatic skaven
I got started with kislev ig cuz of tutorial
Fextralife 4 Life !!!
Damn, I had no idea this was published by Sega. On a separate note, do I need to buy past games to unlock all game content?

@@CLARENCErr you are probably right, but on a very irrational level I can't stand not having the whole game, even if I understand why.
Does dlc from wh2 transfer to 3?
Yes

How to overcast a spell?
Double click

Watch LegendOfTotalWar, and trivialise the game with delicious cheese 😆
I have resetted my campaigns 10x now... why so hard lol
Try pausing or using slow mo.

The number one tip should be to get the mod that removes small settlement battles. Ruined the game IMO.

Git gud
Yea you're right, I've gotten better
Best tip for a noob : DO NOT buy this game.
