Nice Joe review! I have a saved search on ebay for 'vintage GI Joe' and a seller had a 'Racoon-eyed', one slotted shoulder, beefy hands, baby feet, almost mint for $24.99 Buy it Now. Unbelievable price & one of my nicest in my collection. Man, you've got a Joe with the back melt mark? Holy Grail!

Uniform TM tags that have no country marked on them, they were made in Hong Kong in 1964 only. Tags that read made in Okinawa was used only when the Hong Kong and Japan Plants could not keep up 1964 - 1965.

If your talking about the painted head Joe's,sounds like you have a gummy head made with some of the early TM figures? They are very hard to find and are worth more than the other heads. It will be more squashy than the other type heads, softer than the soft heads. Good find.

The R figures, I don't see this happening much at all. But if its a TM figure this is fairly common. but the SOTW line are R figures. Unless Hasbro had TM stock left over.

As far as I recall the elbow has to be a single letter R or L only, to fit properly.
