      1) I want people to contemplate & cognize the difference between "listening" to music... & "feeling" harmonic wavelengths throughout their body which only results from being physically connected to the instrument by laying on the resonant chamber. In other words, I want people to "feel" geometry in their body rather than listen to it with their ears. That is transcendental... & of course can only be fully experienced by the direct experience.
      2) Also I didn't even know how to properly play this instrument when these videos were recorded. It took me a couple of years to learn how to play them AFTER 7 years of constructing & assembling this system. TH-cam had just started & I didn't really know what it was. A techie friend insisted he record me talking about them.
      3) I dont want the audible "image" of an acoustic impression to be misrepresented by a digital recreation of them (like computer speakers)
      4) Last of all... I don't want this to be perceived as performance art. (I don't even let anyone in the room when I'm playing unless they're actually lying on the instrument, "receiving" a treatment)
      I hope that makes sense to you... Thanks for your inquiry.

    This just came up on TH-cam. Wow I had no idea you commissioned so many of these incredible music/healing machines. Yeah I can see that it would be nearly impossible to hear this digitally, since some notes you can only feel while the complex harmonics and over tones would take a very very high sampling rate to capture. Then what speaker can reanimate the recording?

    • @HarmonixHealing
      @HarmonixHealing  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You got it Keith✨👌It is absolutely impossible to capture the subtle overtones. produced by hundreds of strings. It can only be experienced Live... while lying on the instrument.
      The "haters" complain that I don't play them live.... the fact that they don't understand this & complain is enough for me to delete & permanently "block" them from this channel
      This work is all about the subtle & the sublime overtones & respect for this ancient tradition

    • @keithwilliamson8428

      @@HarmonixHealing I kind of expected your instruments to be this way. I had a long talk one day with one of our pastor's who spent a considerable amount of his life learning about the organ and how it produces sounds you cant distinguish but you can tell is missing when played back even on very good equipment. I can't recall it all but the length of the pipes is a critical part. Our pipe organ is expensive to tune and maintain. Certain pipes have to be replaced after so many years and letting the church get too hot or cold diminishes the pipes as the should not be allowed to expand and contract too much.

    • @HarmonixHealing
      @HarmonixHealing  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@keithwilliamson8428 Similarly with my Instruments.... they take 3 hours to tune every time I play them.... any change in temperature or humidity will cause the strings to expand or contract... changing the fundamental note of every string (300 of them) so working with any instrument takes tremendous dedication& sacrifice.

    1) Thank you for your comment. I understand what you mean when you say that humans have a "sin nature". But this term only applies to the limited body, mind paradigm. The truth is we are MUCH MORE than just that. We also have a "divine nature" that some refer to as the soul.
    2) The soul is that aspect of us that is universal, eternal & infinite. At birth this aspect incarnates into this physical, limited & temporary vehicle.

    But there is a lot more to the story, which involves the Catholic Church banning what we now know as the "black" keys, because they could be used to create "Devil Chords", and this created the rather absurd "A" to "G" scale with sharps and flats rather than the simple Greek scale where music notes were just 1 to 12. It is a story that encompasses over 2000 years of human growth.

    There exists a Pythagorean instrument played today called the Kanonaki (Ancient Greek: κανών)(Modern: Κανονάκι) which was designed by Pythagoras using his Pythagorean theorem and the Pythagorean constant to determine the pitch and position of playing the Kanonaki. That would go VERY well with Monochord, I bet!

  • @HarmonixHealing
    @HarmonixHealing  11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    These instruments are tuned according to the Pythagorean teachings regarding the universal phenomena of overtones.
    While there is an infinite possibility of ratios hidden within the fundamental note of ANY string... THE most perfect harmonic interval is, "The 5th"... because it is the Essence of "Resolution".
    All the strings on my instruments are tuned only & entirely to 5ths. And because there are 100's of strings the instruments generate what I call, "infinite unfolding audible fractals".

    Mitchell L. Gaynor MD (an Oncologist) wrote a book called, "the Healing Powers of Sound". He gets tremendous results with patients suffering with "terminal conditions".
    Most Hospitals already have Music Therapy Departments.
    Although they may not incorporate the esoteric depth of my "approach", these departments get notable results.
    It is good to givea people a "Choice" & let individuals gravitate naturally toward their needs.
    I have never been one that seeks approval from authority figures.

    @OnnomonnomonnO
    InDeed Pythagoras used the phenomena (perfect math) of a vibrating string to teach his disciples the ubiquitous presence (& laws) of harmonics and how it relates to architecture, astronomy, music & math.
    According to David Fideler, “Harmonic Proportion… attributed to Pythagoras, exists as a purely universal principle, but it would never have been discovered without empirical experimentation on The Monochord”.

    Thanks for your insights. I am researching Pythagoras and in reading Richard Norton's book on tonality, he dedicates a chapter to the "music of the spheres." He states, in a rather convincing exegesis on the topic, that the monochord (Kanon) did not exist in Pythagoras' time, nor did he invent it. I found this be a rather surprising claim. Do you have any pertinent info on the invention of the instrument in its earliest form? Harvard Dictionary of Music says that the invention of the monochord is "attributed" to Pythagoras, but stops short of actually confirming that.

    • @HarmonixHealing
      @HarmonixHealing  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Most of the important & credible scholars substantiate that Pythagoras certainly used the monochord to teach students about the universal principles of mathematics as it can be applied to math geometry architecture, astronomy & music.
      I do believe however that the monochord (like the Pythagorean Theorem) pre-existed Pythagoras because after 23 years of studying with the Priesthood in Egypt he was the first to bring that wisdom to the West... thus historians attribute it to Pythagoras. Being the only Western Egyptian Initiate is significant.
      Just as many things that pre-existed Pythagoras were attributed to him, there are many things that his students discovered after his life span that were attributed to Pythagoras because it was a custom of the time & the culture that the student attribute their discoveries to "The Master".

  • @HarmonixHealing
    @HarmonixHealing  11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    While I respect Gurdjieff's contributions... (like most, if not all modern Mystery Schools, Brotherhoods, Secret Societies & Western Esoteric Teachings) there is no question he received much of his inspiration & fundamentals form ancient Pythagorean teachings.
    Even Plato was a Pythagorean Initiate.
    Pythagoras was the ONLY (western) Egyptian Initiate in human history... so I say... go the the source.

    i am so interested to learn these marvelous technics , i have saved 10s of videos that i will listen to hoping to start to understand some .. thank you Dr Hopkins , your explanation makes it easier ...
    allow me though , to add a very important information , Pythagoras is not Greek , he was Phoenician and precisely from Tyre in Lebanon.. some claim that he was inspired by the mathmatics from Babylon or from the Egyptians , but people feign to ignore that the first instrument of music made of strings was made by Thor- hermes from Byblos ( GebEL : land of EL ( in Phoenician ) he was the son May who was herself daughter of Atlas who himself was the brother of EL as mentioned up ..
    the clay tablets found in Eugarit , prove it , however some claim that his instrument of music was made of one string , while the Greeks claim that it was made of 3 strings representing the summer , winter and the spring ..
    NB , the clay tablets date back to the period of time when Eugarit was a Phoenician port , this city was invaded later by Syrians( Assyrians ) and since after there were no Phoenician archeological discoveries where found to the period when it became under the control of Syrians . ..
    Thor Hermes is himself Thoth or Tautus for the Egyptians who as they say invented the first 3 letters ,.... he is the son of Hephaestus - ptah ( meaning the conqueror ) who was the first who ruled on Egypt , and built Memphis , and the first pyramid ( the Phoenicians were the first who hewnd stones and used them for building ) in Egypt in a time when the Egyptians used to live in sand houses called " Mastabas" ( ref: sanford Holst ) . and this explains why there were pyramids everywhere in the world like in the Americas , because these were built by the Phoenicians ..
    very few know that the Egyptians worshipped the Phoenician Gods and Byblos was their religious capital till the 6th dynasty , and their offerings are still preserved in the temple of Astrate in Byblos ( Astrate is Hathor for the Egyptians ) ...
    i'm sorry it's a bit long . but the modern scholars and the latest archeological discoveries show how wrong history is as told by the Greeks and how honest were the Phoenicians philosophers were ( Sanchoniaton , Thor-Hermes and Philo and Porphyry who both butchered the Greeks and accused them of manipulation and creating fictions about the Phoenician Gods which they Myths to give them a Greek identity )
    thank you

    Yes I am saying that esoteric schools throughout history were profoundly influenced by Pythagorean culture, tradition & literature... including the many that exist today... like Masonic Lodges, Rosicrucian Orders & the more "obscure" schools.

      +Heru-Tehuti Re inDeed David Fideler is a recognized scholar on Pythagoreanism. At the age of twenty-four, he founded Phanes Press, with the primary aim of publishing The Pythagorean Sourcebook and Library.
      You are correct, on page 188 of his book titled, "Jesus Christ, Sun of God" is a photo of a small monochord designed to demonstrate the universal principles of the harmonic overtones series... & the mathematical intervals associated with them.
      The instruments I use are large enough for a human being to lie their entire body on it... so that when the instrument is played properly... the individual soul can merge with the infinite universal soul.

    I imagine your poli-monochords could be, after hours, be tuned to a specific person or even a specific disease. It would be very expensive and time consuming but I know it would make a difference. Many years ago I was treated by a healer by using musical sounds.

    • @HarmonixHealing

      With all due respect, I suggest that this work is NEVER to be considered "performance art". I never even let anyone in the room when I'm playing unless they're directly "receiving" a treatment by lying directly on the actual resonant chamber.
      It is almost like asking me if you could please watch someone listening to Beethoven....or to watch someone asleep while they are having the most profound dream. Does this make sense?
      Watching me play to them or to "watch the effects" on another person is impossible...& meaningless as opposed to the actual analog EXPERIENCING on the instrument yourSelf
      This is the Essence of Pythagoreanism.
      & you are correct.... it is literally a game changer

    I am sure you have seen how a soprano can break a glass by tuning her voice to the point that the sound resonance fractures the glass. However no glass has exactly the same breaking point. In the same way no body resonates at the same frequency. Intuitively I discovered this fact by experimenting how my chest and my throat receive the vibration from a cello and the harmonic vibration of a fellow singer when performing a duet. I hope you can see where I´m going with this.

    Your right I spent a decade & a fortune commissioning them & they're are truly exquisite. Museums & Universities have inquired.
    The only instrument I use a bow with is the large circular instrument that rotates. All the other stringed instruments I play with my fingers but they're not played like ANY other stringed instrument. I never "pluck" the fundamental note of the string. I play them in such a way to elicit the hidden harmonic overtone series

    It's not based on the Solfeggio frequencies but it is an ancient tuning menthol.
    It may be difficult for many people to comprehend but the reason I don't play live the on youtube is because ; I don't want this work to be perceived as "entertainment" or "performance art".
    I only play these instruments when a client is actually lying on the resonant chamber... so when I play the strings... they are surrounded by a matrix or cocoon of analog fifths... not a digital recreation.

    It can be said that musical compositions are an expression of non-verbal story telling. My approach is to facilitate "The End of All Story Telling".
    The best way I can describe it is, "The Golden Ratio is to Structure... what the Fifth is to The Harmonic proportions".
    Only after we "drop" human intelligence... (story telling) can we "merge" with universal intelligence. & our "true divine nature".

    I follow no single "Path". It is well documented that Pythagoras traveled extensively throughout India, spent 23 yrs as an Egyptian Initiate & 12 yrs w/ Persian Scholars... He brought all this wisdom to the west... He is in fact- the founding forefather of western civilization. Which is why I try to bring peoples awareness to the fact that the origins Western culture is deeply rooted in ancient mysticism.

    @munkdo3 Despite the appearance of chaos both in & around us.... there also simultaneously exists, "Perfect Order" (the fact that you can predict exactly where all the planets will be in 10,000 years, at noon, is highly ordered) This Order has Intelligence streaming through it & it's accessible. People like Pythagoras & Leonardo da Vinci referred to his "Perfect Order" as Divine.

    A) Although it may be difficult for some people to comprehend: It is crucial to understand that the use of my custom made Instruments should NEVER be viewed as "Entertainment", nor is my work to be considered "Performance Art" (which is defined as something others "watch") nor do I teach others "how to play" nor should these instruments (or CD) ever be use as background "new age" music & especially NEVER during "social engagements".

    So I understand that instead of telling just the story of some subjective object/s in the universe you claim to tell THE STORY OF TRUE REALITY or THE STORY OF THE TRUE DIVINE NATURE... Can you supply more details about the golden ratio? How are its divine qualities expressed through music? Does the golden ratio exist purely in our modern pianos? is your instruments' basic tone tuned according to the standard tuning?

    440 was decided way back. Every town's orchestra was tuned to a different key, and the pure pythagorean tuning creates a slightly different set of note for every key. But this meant music written in one town didn't sound exactly right when played in a different town. This is what slowly brought about what we call "Meantone Tuning" in the 15th century and 440 and 442 became the defacto tunings for this median agreed tuning. .kylegann dot com/histune is a good reference

    Pythagoras was the 1st person to coin the term "Cosmos". It refers simultaneously to everything in the universe AS WELL AS the Perfect Order throughout it. "Universal Intelligence"refers to that which coordinates everything from the sub-atomic particles to the infinite celestial bodies. It has nothing to do w "human intelligence". "Innate Intelligence" is the force that operates trillions of events in your body without using "human intelligence". Divine refers to this "Universal Intelligence".
