In Las Vegas you can safely jump off the Stratosphere Tower which is an 800ft jump. While I was at the top it was terrifying and my mind was telling me "Don't do it!" but as I was falling I felt this very therapeutic euphoric feeling, which is hard to explain but it is possibley the happiest feeling someone could ever experience. I definitely recommend for people to safety jump off buildings, it is cheaper than sessions with a therapist.

Running the math, in high school physics we learned the earth surface g force for all objects in frictionless environment is 9.8 meters / second-squared (the mass of any object increases the applied gravitational force exactly offset by the increase in force needed to move a heavier object equal distance over time as a lighter one, hence all objects (WHEN EXCLUDING air resistance) undergo equal travel due to gravity. And that the distance formula in meters is 0.5*9.8*seconds^squared. And the velocity starting from initial 0 in meters/second is 9.8*seconds. (Formulas derived from elementary calculus)
Your data as you mentioned shows the highest jumper took approx 260 seconds (4min’20sec) before the parachute and the plain vanilla math doesn’t work with this as running this math I get a distance almost 10 fold greater than the 41km drop and a velocity about 7fold greater than the sound barrier. Is this because of residual air resistance even without parachute , and is it that the g force is less at the stratosphere level? I’m just really curious…
Basically, the sound barrier is about what 1100-1200km/h-ish ? Let’s use 1400km/h to be unmistakably supersonic which is 1,400,000 meters per hour. , which is 1.4M / 3600 = 389 meters per second .
Assuming velocity accelerated by 9.8m/s every second …. You would reach a velocity of 389m/s after only 389/9.8 = 40 seconds , way less than 260 seconds
