When Clive introduce himself as Underhill in Dalamil, that reference was from LoTR The Fellowship of the Ring when Frodo introduce himself as Underhill to the bartender of The Prancing Pony.
Those are features that became a staple as a recurring features in every Final Fantasy's game. It's not a secret, rather it would be weird of those features would absent from the new game
Some of these are a bit of a stretch. Like was the whistle the exact same notes? And does someone call a scarecrow "Vivi," or are they *just* "a" Black Mage?
Seriously, no mention of the references to Vagrant Story? Really!!? Two of the biggest being: - Joshua is also the name of a character in Vagrant Story, also a young boy and the son of a duke - Cursebreakers are a reference to the Riskbreakers from Vagrant Story The references to Vagrant Story and FF Tactics are especially notable, as the FFXVI devs are huge fans of Matsuno and his games. Really wish you would give a little more attention to underrated masterpieces like Vagrant Story, FFS! Also, several references to FF6 include: - Owain, Mid's assistant is the name of Cyan's son in FF6 who dies when Kefka poisons the water at Doma - The lore book in FF6 mentions both Magitek and the War of the Magi, both from FF6 - The stolas are very similar to the carrier pigeons used in FF6
I feel like the first one was reaching a bit with the chocobo. Actually most of this list is reaching a bit. Specially referring to them as hidden secrets. Try harder next time.
Soooo bummed all these games are coming out as ps5 exclusives... I have the ps4 and knew the time was coming.... also, i dont have the time to game as much anymore, so i cant even justify buying a new system. Ahhh to be 14 again...😢

The scarecrow is a easter egg abaout Black mage in general in classic FF not Vivi specifically

Vagrant story is part of thd final fantasy universe but no one wants to acknowledge it.....its literally set in the Land of Ivalice.
Doctor Cidolfus is also present in FF12
