For those who only watch the anime is relatable, but for those who have read whole chapters of manga you will say Chinatsu is the best.

i hv different opinions when it comes to chinatsu's "let's forget it" scene-
i think the reason why she says that is more out of consideration than it is because she needs to focus on basketball
chinatsu's been built up to be a considerate character throughout the anime (and manga), and u can definitely see that in quite a few scenes, even taking taiki to the aquarium, or taking care of him / helping a lost child later on when no one's watching
i think the reason she said that was to try to make things less awkward between them, probably out of consideration not to offend her housemate
she seems like the kind of person who would push her own wants and needs away and put others first (pretty sure taiki was the reason she stayed in japan instead of going overseas for her parents)
and another reason why she probably told him to forget it was because she knew hina liked him
and it seemed like it would work (or they have feelings for eachother)
and didnt wanna get in the way, to make it awkward for her housemate, and possibly also the fear of being rejected
perhaps, this isnt as brave as hina, willing to take the steps to tell the other person how they feel, but i think, she's just as brave for being considerate of someone else's feelings
obviously, im not saying that chinatsu shld be the superior pick, and honestly, thats up to taiki to decide
and it mainly comes down to that -- his preferences
some people might like certain personalities or feelings they feel with people over others
afterall, connection isnt personal
but i think it is to be mentioned that chinatsu has many good qualities too
just a thought :)
(but honestly being where hina has been so many times, falling for someone who's good to u, supports u, but yet u cant be theirs, and u always have to just keep taking those steps alone and be strong on ur own, always hits the hardest, and i probably know that better than anyone... its hard not to be jealous, knowing u hv someone to rely on no matter what happens
plus, being in a relationship is like a promise, a promise to support eachother and to be there for eachother

thx for writing this much lol, i appreciate the discussions im getting in the comments and u point out some rly good points. Episode 15 came out and that half addressed the 'lets forget it scene' although Chinatsu didn't rly say why she said it in the first place. I wouldn't say she stayed in Japan because of Taiki since they weren't close beforehand, but telling Taiki to forget wat happened because she didnt want things to be awkward is completely valid. And yea her knowing that Hina liked Taiki would definitely impact her decisions.
ik i was glazing Hina a lot in the vid but i do wanna see chinatsu and taikis relationship develop further cuz in the end, Hina's probably gonna lose and i rather her lose to someone thats actually a well written character. No hate to Chinatsu tho especially after ep15 :)

i guess chinatsu relationship with taiki which is somewhat akward makes this show more fun and interesting to watch also considering the fact chinatsu is 1 yr older than him and her making such decisions like to keep aa distance n all is her way of being close to taiki in a more friendly manner and the latest ep clarifies it anywhichway i guess for me chono is still a side char in this story but a very wholesome one lol
I understand people‘s reason to say that Hina is better than Chinatsu. But the difference between these character is that Chinatsu is 1 year ahead of Taiki and Hina.
Chinatsu‘s dedication for basketball since her childhood was the only reason why she is still on the school with Taiki and also living together with him. Without that she would‘ve go abroad together with her family so the pressure to reach the nationals is even bigger because she convinced her family to stay for basketball. In the other hand Hina hasn‘t got that pressure to stay for dancing even tho she is hardworking too. We already know that Chinatsu could‘nt reach the nationals on her 1st year when she loss in the finals so she wanted to change it and focused basketball even more.
And one more reason why I think Chinatsu deserves more than Hina is that even tho her feelings for Taiki is growing she tries not to get distracted from her goal because she hasn‘t got much time left. But as Taiki said you can‘t do about feelings when your heart already love someone even tho the 3rd person is loving you

The lets forget it was about her respecting the boundaries of being in someone's house and thinking she didn't need Taiki in order to complete her role of winning nationals. This comes primarily for the fact that even tho she can't identify these new feelings she's become consciously aware they she's getting closer to Taiki and sharing physically intimate moment's with him. The flashback at the fireworks festival of her and Karen talking about whether she might be thinking about Taiki in that way, whether she thinks he's a handsome guy and someone she might be developing feeling's for (which is what she actually says in the manga)and she she confirms she does think those thing's. We have no idea when that flashback was only it was before the fireworks festival but it likely wasn't long after this conversation of setting boundaries and so we get a better picture as to the fact she set them boundaries projecting her own developing feelings out of fear of them turning into something that might jeopardise her staying in a family friends house and her getting to play basketball. We see later obviously that regardless of them interacting less and keeping distance she still lives with him and still seems fated to interact with him and every time this happens another reason for liking him and becoming romantically interested in him appears. She then with the help of her mother and overbearing responsibility of missing the last shot in nationals and receiving the vice- captaincy realizes that alongside becoming someone she's romantically interested in and might be starting to genuinely like, Taiki has become her pillar of strength in her mothers absence. He's who she turns to for inspiration, he's who she looks for at practise in a morning, he's who she speaks to for reassurance and laughs with to cheer her self up, and most importantly he's who she feels most comfortable with and who talking to feels easiest with. And so this is the second reason she drops the barrier between them on her birthday. A mixture of realising she needs Taiki and an acceptance of her developing feelings for him after knowing he's not dating Hina and hasn't reciprocated her feelings. I just personally think for Taiki China is definitely the better partner. They're synergy in life in general is one reason, they've got great chemistry, she inspires him in ways Hina never can, and they're intimate moment's are so beuatiful.

Not true, taiki and chinatsu personality and goals align together better, hina is better as a good friend for taiki as they are quite similar.

Chinatsu is calm and reserved while Taiki is quite outgoing and often freaks out a lot which compliment each other.
Chinatsus calm and reserved personality is what leads to many people seeing her as boring, as she is a very grounded character opposed to most anime characters with clearly defined character traits and outgoing personalities, however I see this as something that makes her more appealing as a character, as she is very relatable.

Bro Idk how anyone can pick chinatsu over hina. Hina clearly the right answer they known each other for year while taiki only met chinatsu in highschool plus chinatsu took barely any action to make taiki fall for her while Hina (if watch ep 14), She actually had the guts to ask him out even though, she knows taiki is simping on chinatsu. Do know how hard that is for hina, just imagine asking a boy or girl you like but; that person that you like has a crush on a another person? You probably thinking to yourself "I probably have no chance" and "I dont want to ruin our current relationship" so I proabably hold these feeling until i die. But hina didnt want that regret, She took a stance and told taiki how she feel even though she knows that probably going to one sided. I just hate when an author of manga/webtoon/ln decide to write 3rd wheel love interest so well, then toss at the end and pick the girl that on the main cover of series. That main cover girl usually end up with mc is usually boring or does nothing to attract the mc heart beside just being their

@ nah, not just like that, I think part of it because like bro said in the video, while Chinatsu is rejecting like chances of love, and basically friendzoned Taiki, Hina is willing to work on both her sport as well as make time for a relationship. Not only that but one of the main things taiki likes about chinatsu is how hardworking she is, and Hina is just as hardworking while making time for him. She also came to talk to him after his tournament and some other stuff. It just seems to me that realistically they would be a better couple. They also went on that fireworks date and all that, and it just seems like they would work better than taiki and chinatsu
