I think humidity really helps seedlings. It also helps the plant 100% remove the seed when it sprouts. I live in Ohio so my furnace dries my house out. I bought a humidifier just incase the humidity drops to a really low level. Definitely need one in states like Arizona
If your home is really dry in the winter and your heat dries the home up to like 25% Rh a little cheapo humidifier in the lung room is good as you said. A cheap hack to run it periodically is to use a timer with the pins and click them to run for an hour then off for two then on for two off for one etc… brings the humidity up to 60% and holds it pretty steady. I’ve been doing that in my bedroom whether or not I’m running a grow at the time. Life hack.

I think if you need one, you're looking in the wrong direction. I'd give thought to plant count for your space.

Oh and if you plan to run a humidifier make sure you are using distilled or RO water! They sell little balls you put inside to cut down calcium build up but if you use tap water you’ll get this white power all in your carbon filter, all over your lights and room and it will kill your humidifier quick

Some humidifiers come with a night light that can be turned off. Just make sure you reset that every time it runs out of water and shuts off and you turn it back on again!
I have super low humidity here in northern Colorado usually 14 to 20% so I need a humidifier in my grow all the way up until around week 3 of flower. I’ve had at least 6 different shity humidifiers that took a crap after one run or even half a run. They weren’t cheap either just not made to run 24/7. The new ac infinity humidifiers are a little more money, about 100 bucks instead of 50 60 but they last! They don’t have lights that wake up your plants, they have a humidistat so you can dial in your rh, and they have a hose so you can set it outside the tent and just run the hose into the tent. Game changer and they last. It’s weird here in co, I need a humidifier for veg and drying but I need a de hum after week 5 of flower because my buds are so juicy 😂 no but really I’m not sure why but my rh jacks up into the 70s if I don’t have exhaust going in late flower
I have nine 4gals in a 4x4x60" tent. 🙃 That left just enough room for a 25pint dehumidifier. It pulls anywhere from 1.5 to 4 gallons per day, pending on my watering schedule. Is the only way to keep the humidity down to 60 or less at night with the tent closed.
Same here, my lung room seems to stay around 40-45% during spring and summer, and in the winter it stays at a constant 30%. So in my growing tent the humidity will rise above 80% if I let it just from watering the plants, so I set my exhaust fan to maintain my humidity in the tent. Drying on the other hand, I will definitely need a humidifier when I get to that point.
You also have to make sure the water you put in to a humidifier is not hard water or you will get white powder all over you plants and equipment inside the tent, don’t ask how I know!
I had my humidifier on when I turned off the lights and yeah, my leaves got funky from my dehumidifier, I believe they look wind 🌬 burn be safe stay strong Goddess
I just bought the Spider Farmer 6L humidifier, i was using tap water (300ppm) and white residue everywhere, lol. Ordered an R/O machine to take care of that. I'm growing in organic and was hoping to just dechlorinate the water and roll, guess I'll try a 50/50 R/O and tap water so I might not have to add CalMag. I have some on hand just in case, lol. P.S. I keep the humidifier in the lung room and it was still showing up inside the tent because im just recirculating the air in the room/tent. The humidity without it is 17%, I'm currently in veg with humidity at 60% ( pretty much the best I can do ) and temp at 75.

I make my own humidifiers so I can have a bigger reservoir and more precise control over the RH. To turn them on and off I use the AC Infinity controller.

My humidity is about 30 or 35 percent this winter. And I just chopped a plant 2 days ago. I got a humidifier but it's not a great one and I'm struggling getting it right for my plants. Putting a humidifier in my room isn't enough, in the tent is too much. Bummer.

I dont use one. I got light , good bar LED i got filter extractor fan and a rotating fan a hygromiter and thats it. No ph pen no ppm pen nothing else and i get very good bud , organics and soil fix its own issues

Thanks GT, that help explains why i probably got some seeds in 1 tent when I ran my old humidifier which had a blue light inside, never thought that could be the cause! I use the AC outside the tent kind now which has zero lights an opens up more space in the tent for sure and I can fill it without openning the tent too.💚 ☮☯🔥🪴 Whoooooooo

I’ve done that humidifier in the tent with the light stunted the stretch during flower. Noticed it after the second week.

You could get an inkbird controller for the humidifier to set a specific humidity.
