Adding to its charm, the Gold Coast City Council introduced its own Chinatown in the heart of Southport's CBD, opening its gates to a world of Asian-inspired shops and restaurants.
Our delightful journey commences at the esteemed Southport Courthouse, where we embark on a path leading us towards the vibrant Southport Chinatown. As we venture forth, the presence of numerous Asian establishments serves as a delightful signpost, indicating our arrival within the lively realm of Chinatown.
Continuing our expedition, we meander through bustling streets, gracefully crossing the renowned Gold Coast Highway. As we draw closer to the glistening bay, we encounter serene parks that beckon us to embrace the pleasures of a tranquil stroll or partake in a delightful picnic. Playgrounds and rock pools await, promising joyous moments for families with little ones.
At long last, our captivating odyssey culminates on the magnificent Southport Pier, providing an unrivalled vantage point to behold the breathtaking spectacle of a wondrous sunset. The tranquil waters mirror the sky's warm hues, creating a truly awe-inspiring vista that captivates the senses and leaves an indelible mark on our hearts.

The Light Rail uplifted the whole Southport area. House prices went up. Shops got their customers back and the area now buzzes. The only negative is the amount of homeless, drunk and drug affected people in the area. Lastly the juvenile kids from as young as ten roam freely stealing from all the shops and just general anti social behaviour
