Good idea on the different yarn idea but also on the reed to use for different tyoes of yarn and what to do when you have a thin yarn (fine or super fine) and only a 10 or 12 inch reed.
It would be nice if in another beginner’s guide you could talk about the best yarn for a particular project, both size and material. I know that there aren’t absolutes, but a guide will be helpful
Haha, your description of the warp and weft personalities is hilarious! Party with the weft threads. I'm so glad your channel popped up in my youtube suggestions. Enthusiastic new subscriber here. Thanks for sharing your knowledge (and personality).
Thank you Chris. I appreciate how accessible and clear your videos are. Would it be possible for you to take about the different types of wool and which ones you could use as a warp? For someone with no experience with fibre I am finding it difficult as you can’t do the snap test in a shop. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you again.
Thanks. Someone else said they would warn beginners from using cotton as the warp for the first few times weaving because keeping tension with cotton is hard. Like you will always be struggling with that 1 strand that keeps coming loose. I'm waiting for my very first loom to arrive. Got an Ash 24". I'm so excited to start practicing.
Such a clear explanation. By the way, the project on your loom in the video is outstanding!
Oh, thank you, Kathleen!! I appreciate that!!

Hi! Sadly, I'm not the girl for that topic! When I use wool, it goes into the weft!
