  • I just wanted to share my struggles with OCD, and as always, remind all of us to be patient and love those who struggle with OCD. It is a mental illness...but I believe there's help! Don't give up! I won't if you won't!
Thanks for your continued support with my videos and my mission to get better and help others in the process! Love you all!!

I struggle with fear of spiders, or any bug in general, but especially spiders...I can relate a lot to what you said in this video. And the cleaning/washing hands part too.

I have this thing where when I hang laundry to dry, the clothes pins have to be the same colour as the piece of clothing. Red clothes, red clothes pins. Blue clothes, blue clothes pins. Green clothes, green clothes pins... And the types of clothes pins have to be the same for one piece of clothing.
A few times my mom wanted to do me a favour and hung my laundry. When I saw it, I pretty much freaked out because she broke every rule that exists. So I had to change the pins to make it right. I couldn't go upstairs again before.
Or I have to wash my hands a certain way. Wash my palms while counting to ten, wash the outside of my hands while counting to ten, wash my fingers while counting to ten, wash my thumbs while counting to ten, wash my fingernails while counting to ten...
The weird thing is that it's not really because of being germophobic. It's rather a numbers thing. Like for example controlling the volume of my TV, it has to be either devidable by 3 or 5. Only exception is 13, that's okay too.
When you talked about that red line on your wrists and the rough skin from washing your hands, I just looked at my hands and was like "Yup, that's what my hands looks like too."

That's actually such a simple but important and good idea. I must fully decide that I will fight my anxiety, otherwise I likely won't get anywhere. Not if I don't really give it my consistent all. ❤️

I hope you see this comment even tho this is an old video, but I first just wanted to say that I just found your channel a couple days ago and I'm so glad I did. You are such a sweet and inspiring person and this is exactly what I needed right now. I have OCD, I would even say it is severe OCD at this point. I relate to the hand washing thing so much, my hands are super red and cracked bc I wash them too much. Sometimes I have to re wash my hands right after I just washed them bc in my OCD brain, I can't remember if I used soap or not. Like I know I did in my right mind, but I just can't make that thought go away. Right now it's really bad, I have no idea what's causing such a huge increase in my OCD thoughts... maybe it's stress? Idk. But it's like I literally have to check EVERYTHING right after I do it. If I turn off a faucet I have to count to 4 while pushing down on the nozzle just to make sure it's turned off completely, I have to check and recheck light switches every time I turn one off, just to make sure it's turned off, if i finish doing some sort of activity like a craft (I make slime, and have a huge work area for it) I have to check the entire place to make sure everything is put back where it belongs and stuff and ugh I wish I could just turn off my OCD brain. If I had a number for how many things I check before bed, it'd be around 30 (doors, light switches, electronics, etc). It gets annoying and bothersome sometimes but I know I'll get over it if I just keep on trying, anyways enough about me. I love you and I love all the hard work you've put in to beat these challenges, thanks for reading!!

I am paranoid about my closet door being opened and I removed all the doors from the rest of the house except for the front and back door.
