I’m really hoping the time skip from the beginning of this episode isn’t a sign that this will be a short season..I want it to last long, it’s one of my favorites!
OPINIONS PLZ. throughout season 2, it almost seems as if he cares for her to an extent? or at least likes her enough to tolerate her. plus, in the newer episode where they go into that forbidden area, when that creepy man pretending to be her teacher approaches chise, a flash happens and suddenly joseph is in control of chise and he threatens the man in turn protecting chise. i wonder if he's able to just see out her eye, whenever he's bored? such an interesting dynamic developing I LOVE IT
I don't think it's that he cares for, and certainly not that he likes, Chise. I imagine it's something more like as long as they both live, both their curses are contained in her body, and they (mostly) counteract each other. It gives Chise a reason to deal with Joseph, despite all that he's done, and it gives Joseph a reason to keep Chise safe.
I remember that creepy guy by the name Joseph in Season 1. He had a dramatic life in the past and became an alchemist with dark magic. That is until he changed. Well, almost.
0:54 Joseph's eye granted her immortality. The immortal curse and the dragon curse “keep each other in check” and prevent each other from the extreme. The immortality is limited to mortality from the dragon curse, and the dragon curse’s punishment of death is also limited to mortality from the immortality curse.
I haven't seen season 2, so I was wondering if would help me understand what happened to her and also what happened between her and Joseph. Did he give her his arm, and why did her eye turn grey?
Joseph took Chise's left eye and gave her one of his own to try and take on some of the Dragon's curse Chise has (why her arm is black) so he could finally die. Before he has the chance to take her arm too, Chise uses a powerful sleep spell on him. the Dragon's curse which would have killed her in months, cancels itself out with the curse of immortality she got from Joseph's eye. im missing a TON of details there. but that's the jist of it.
@@zackr5457 a dragon hatchling was kidnapped to be sold off then it grew in size & when on a rampage over London. Chise used her Sleigh Beggy powers to calm it down but at the price of having her arm mutated & cutting her life from a few years to months! (Weeks by the time Chise had her birthday) until Joseph intervened
It’s not really necessary since they’re anime originals. You can probably just go ahead and watch S2 if you’ve already watched S1! But the extra OVAs does give more lore if that’s your cup of tea!
@@cielghoul2034 Yes, but the inbetween OVAs they released were not based on manga content, so even though they're still canon since the writer I believe was involved in their conception they don't actually have anything necessary to understand or follow season 2, as they were made after the season 2 content being adapted technically.
ik you've probably seen it by now but just in case you havent There is 2 ovas each with 3 episodes and you should watch those since they are Canon But they don't really tie into the story of the seasons though Those awaiting stars is my personal favourite
Why does the dub seem so harsh than the subs man😩 the subs made me feel like he was calm and composed but here he still sounds like the jerk he was in the last season 😒. Anyways I think to answer his question. I think Chise is the one Joseph is meant to have that reliability, much like Chise does to Elias. In his question he asks “What's the difference between what you tried to earn by sacrificing yourself and what I want?” I think Chise does gain something in the end and it’s not just about sacrificing herself but more like taking away their pain. Joseph has lived a lonely painful life so for Chise to take it upon herself to share that pain by bonding them together just made sense for him to have someone beside him forever. Uhmm does anyone have any other thoughts?? I could be wrong, this is just what I think😅
Honestly these two act like siblings now it’s kind of wholesome

I know there’s a lot of in between stuff from season one to season two. How much of it do I need to watch?
