0:16 onward, anyone else notice the symbolism of Chise standing in the light and Joseph sitting in the dark? And then Chise walking mostly into the dark, hovering on the edge? -(And then at then end her walking out of it, while Joseph remains?)- Forgive me, I just re-watched Revenge of the Sith and that scene with "Goodbye, old friend." between Obi-Wan and Anakin, that whole Light and Dark thing, is getting to me.
Cartaphilus is a character that I would classify accordingly by the D&D alignment as a perfect example of a Neutral+Evil character. I ain't watching the current season but, in Elias place, I would do everything to keep Cartaphilus away from me and Chise. He's like a snake, only waiting the right moment to strike...
Her arm coming to her defense so to say, isn't necessarily a bad thing, considering that Chise practically had no sense of self preservation in season 1. She has gotten better but that arm might do her some good. However the key would be to not be controlled by it, I guess. And I bet that is why Joseph/Cartaphilus is betting on happening and is gleeful to see happening.
I'm so agree with you. Please watch episode 24 that was released a few hours ago, if you haven't done so yet. I really love their dynamics, and I was very happy with this end of the season. (my English is pretty bad, I really hope you understood what I was trying to say..)
No your english is completely fine, and i would sure watch the episode you mentioned, I am happy to see others also liking Joseph because he portrayed so negative but when you understand his psychology you would have a soft corner for him
I wondered if it’s a part of Chise that’s her rage and anger and other such emotions. Saying this basing it off the phrase: Beware the quiet ones, for they will have a breaking point that’s scary. Or something.
Very likely that she is simply getting genuinely better and it was her self-preservation instinct at work. Self-defense at its finest. Don't forget that in the past Chise was NOT well. She was downright suicidal after all
nope, read chapter 95, Chise's conversation with Joseph, I guess it's right what Joseph 1:59 said that once she does it she can't have that innocence any more
"There is a difference between us. We both looked into the abyss. But when the abyss looked back? You blinked." Batman to Owlman, Justice League Crisis on Two Earths
"It's not me." Something people tell themselves when a monster deep inside themselves reveals itself. In the end it still is you, not matter what justification or excuse you decide on.
Well in fairness, it's somewhat justified to think it's NOT her. Remember, that arm is the result of absorbing part of a dragon's curse/hatred towards others, as well as a part of Joseph/Cartaphilius himself, so Chise is now technically sort of a chimera. She's not sure whether her arm transforming and attacking that creature was because it was the curse that influenced her, whether it was something that she actually wanted deep down, or whether it might have been a mix of both.
I feel Joseph's reaction was a bit odd in comparison to the words he said. He is stating the obvious. Once you do- you can't go back. It's not necessarily a bad thing. It's just a fact. So, him reacting in an "evily" way seems a little extra. He does tend to be a bit extra in general though.
It's the fact that Chise was the one that experienced it. He's basically experiencing that natural high you get when you get to boast "I told you so!!!" right in front of someone's face. Chise said 'I don't plan to be like you' in one of their last talks, but Joseph said 'You'll see I'm right and come crawling, begging to help me'. Because he seems to see her like his past self, he expects her to also breakdown mentally and reach the same conclusion he did.
Tbh I was actually expecting Joseph/ Cartaphilus to comment on her phrasing. But it could be just a translation error or a mishap which wouldn't be so funny in japanese
Maybe, while covering her mouth it was less painful into admitting what she told Joseph, less of a burden, that being entirely open with herself without covering her mouth. It could also be that it was more in a way of confidentiality? With Joseph/Cartaphilus? Of all people. Cause of the same reason, him being who's he been for more than 1000 years or so, a person with 2 lives of 2 people in 1 body with all life, memories, personality etc. And either way Chise, choose to talk to him because he's been through similar experiences. On another note it could also be because she didn't want Ruth to hear what she told Joseph at that precise moment? Just a thought. Hope it helps.

Chise: is in the good allingment so I feel lawful good although could also be neutral
Elias:neutral thanks to the incident
No, he doesn't care anymore
He lives in their well...
This is Josef, not Cartaphilus, right?

Phenomenal episode. The unique magical and mystical vibe, which is the biggest attraction of this series to me, is still going strong.

I love Joseph because i understand what he was been through, that's why chise always care for him and i love the dynamic between chise and Joseph

Man, Cartaphilus really is a thing. After Elias, to me, he is the most interesting character in the story.
I love this dude. He is absolutely sick in the head, but for some reason I love him
Could be sympathy. Over 1000 years of constant torment just because he tried to save the only one that talked to him : c
I want my own cozy little pit to sleep in like that.
That'd be the life.
I wondered if it’s a part of Chise that’s her rage and anger and other such emotions. Saying this basing it off the phrase: Beware the quiet ones, for they will have a breaking point that’s scary. Or something.
I belive that it's a defense mechanism that was given live thanks to the dragons curse thanks to all the stress suffered before Elias

@@Aurilion44 I agree whit you
Chise is becoming ever closer to become a shounen protagonist
nope, read chapter 95, Chise's conversation with Joseph, I guess it's right what Joseph 1:59 said that once she does it she can't have that innocence any more
She already is lol
I had a grin as large as Cartaphilus, this is going to be fun
Hahaha, Man, same. Thought I was he only one that got carried away with him

Chise’s character growth is always interesting!

Persona 4, much?
It's not a monster. It's just survival instinct. The monster comes from what you do of it.

@@ShadowPersona360 it's probably the Three parties self defense instinct coming together into one: her subconscious, the dragon, and cartaphilus
This season is under the radar but it’s highly entertaining & every episode is digging thru many questions we had in S1
Did she seriously just walk on the bed with *shoes* ?!
Thank you! I thought I was the only one who notice that.
😂😂😂😂😂 😭😭😭😭😭😭
I'm crying
It *agitates* me.
Yes she did it!
Non sono scarpe ma calzini. Le scarpe se le toglie prima di scendere le scale
Maybe that voice actually is something that was created because of the two curses, like a fusion of the dragon, Inmortality and Chise herself

I mean he might have chilled down for now, but he's still very much insane
He feels joy that a person so righteous as Chise got "corrupted". That's Joseph for you
