I work in the internal build division at Ricoh, and can anonymously reveal that the version 5 (we are skipping 4 because it is unlucky number in Japan) will have a hot shoe mountable umbrella.

I like your tip of using the rainy days to shot at people. I'm still too afraid to shot at them, but never tried to do it while it's raining.

Lots of ninja moments in this one. Does the GR always get such good focus on the drive-by (walk-by) shots? It’s got crazy reflexes with its focus.

I love the idea of using the rain to subvert anxiety, but it only works if you get rainy days😂 haven't had one in months where i live
Great video! I never get tired of looking at your moving images and photos again and again. You took beautiful pictures on a rainy day because, among other things, you understand your artistic craft and how to use the camera so well. I think people criticizing X o Y about this camera is just out of their minds. It's absolutely incredible in so many aspects.

Don’t much about film simulation since I am edited all my photos with my presets

I was wondering if you raised ISO on purpose to get a filmic look with the grain? Or was it simple in Auto mode and dialed in that high iso?
I usually got for a lower A and raise SS a lot to compensate with the lowest ISO possible, but i get very low Grain and really sharp images.
Yes I don't mind the grain and sometimes prefer have more in focus with a higher Fstop and some noise

Im just new to photography. I am just using an old digicam for my street photography. I just want that vintage feel on my photos. But for your camera, just want to know what is your setting. Is it on auto mode?

I live in Korea, and I am planning to travel to Japan next month. I am planning to travel by purchasing one of GR3 and GR3X. Can you recommend which one would be better?
Depends on what you like more, a 28mm (GR III) or 40mm (GR IIIx).
Do you feel comfortable taking photos up close to your subjects or do you like more space between you and your subjects. Personally, I'd go with the GR iiix when going to an unfamiliar place.

Yes they do. Everything is included in the pack to use the presets on any version of lightroom including Mobile

@velafresh if you do it would be a good idea to pick up a couple of spare batteries. The battery life on the GR111 is shocking!

Adrien, do you have “noises” with auto iso, if it for example 3200-4000 ? My pictures not so clean at Av and auto iso…
I do and I don’t really mind. I don’t apply any noise reduction either

Nah. This little rain even if the water got on the camera it will be fine. Doesnt matter the gear has weather seal ornot. People are too worry and thinking too much. Things dont spolit so easily. However. If you’re unlucky. It can/will spolit anytime. Doesnt matter it got wet ornot.
Back then handphone/watches dont even have water resistant or weather sealed. We use them in the rain too. And most of the time. There is no problem too. So. Why are people so careful or scare with their camera. Lol.
