Dvorak gave us muzik sublime interspersed with beguile, serenity, joy and a touch of high & low level of pensiveness. Beautiful 😍💓 muzik by a most beautiful human. And the subtle twists and turns in his works are his hallmarks as a great composer.
Menahem is still playing! I miss Izzy’s beautiful violin tender sweetness, but that was Izzy! Only one ! The cellist is terrific with a million color, what a cello and player! This newest Beaux Arts ensemble is worthy of the famous brand created by Bernie Greenhouse, Isadore Cohen, and of course, the immortal Mr. Pressler!
He will be 99 in less than two months, on 12/16, also Beethoven's birthday, as he never fails to remind us :-) He is a great artist, teacher and human being.
I have loved the same for decades now! That is the movement which makes me remember the piece. I believe that Movements I, IV and VI are the best. In fact, you can take just those three, play them one after another and it will become a complete piece by itself. That ending movement is fabulous. What an ending!
I should add that the "Whole Composition" is good. Movt. II is serene but then suddenly becomes lively at around 7:15 for one and a half minutes. He returns to the theme at around 11:30 and ends the movement with it. Movt. V is good in its own way. The surprising thing I have found is that all the themes of all the movements seem to carry strains of the other movements; you can feel it but you may not be able to pin it down. This feeling which he has been able to infuse into it, ties up the entire composition into one organic whole.
Tastes differ as well as interpretations differ. There is no right or wrong. Just because you like this interpretation doesn't mean that everyone has to like it.
There is no way to know whether they dislike the "composition" or "the performance by this particular Trio". In any case, those of us who love both can simply ignore them because to think about them would be a complete waste of time.
@@heymrscottwhatyougonnado9916 They have good reason. It's a pity Americans and British are lazy. Anton is easier to say than Antonin. Fortunately, everybody knows who Dvorak is, and the first name is rarely used. This is simply gorgeous. The performers are extraordinary. THank you.

They should not call this group by the original name. They should call this ‘Pressler and friends’. There was absolutely no match to the original three.
Soo schön und überzeugend, zart und faszinierend! Bravi!!!!! Diese Musik ist besonders
In this masterpiece, Dvorak is the Master of Melodies.

Not any more, sadly: he passed away on May 6th 2023. May his soul rest in peace.

Whenever listen to this music of bohemian I turn into Dumky, freeman.

Duke Ellington said there are only two kinds of music--good and bad. Which is this?
EXTRAORDINARY...

Spot on, precisely what I've always thought.
There's also, earlier, a strong semblance to one of Ennio Morricone's pieces for the film Cinema Paradiso.

Who are these artists ?
The Beaux Arts Trio (Antonio Meneses, Menahem Pressler, Daniel Hope)
PS, don’t ever use Anton again, as the first name of Maestro Antonin Dvorak! He was Czech and so am I. Anton is German, thank you very much.
I am glad to learn this. Thank you!
