THE BIG CLEAN

Communities across the lower North Island are still coming to terms with the devastation from Cyclone Gabrielle and the enormity of the task at hand: cleaning up.
Ultimately, this will be a herculean effort to get these towns and neighbourhoods back on their feet. But it’s also a collective one. And as Miriama Kamo finds this week, taking part in an exhausting convoy to help cut off communities, people will go to the greatest of lengths to help each other.
