Really enjoying the series. One thing that would be cool is when you sit with the local brewmasters if you tasted your beers instead of or even along side of the commercial versions. Not from a review or critique perspective per se but it would be interesting to hear how well your homebrew fits the style and also would help new homebrewers or those interested in starting realize you can brew just as good beer at home. Either way great series and appreciate the patience you are having in starting this way back to put a 4 week process all in one video.

Hi Martin, first of all - amazing channel and great content! Now to the point - as you might have already read, a typical Czech (Premium) Lager is always brewed using the decoction technique. I advise to read up on it, it's quite different than the regular one (infusion). The difference in the final beer is remarkable and I hope you will experiment one day using also this approach! =) Good luck with your challenge! Greetings from a Slovak living in the Czech Republic

Enjoying the series!!! Please turn off the music while you're talking... Home-brewers are mostly old people with bad hearing... ;) I should clarify, that the music early on was hard to hear you, but later, during the tasting, the music was a great accompaniment. I would like to hear a little more detail on the fermentation process - did you make a starter, what wast the fermentation profile, did you do a diacetyl rest, etc... It looks like you're really trying to keep it simple, but I think most homebrewers love the details...

    Hi,
Most of Czech lagers are brewed using decoction mash, dont You think about trying that? I know that it takes much more time but the beer tastes lot different, there is more malty, bread-like taste in beer brewed with decoction.
Cant wait for another lager video :)
    Martin

Love your videos! Cool to see another NC home brewer. I’m curious about what app it is you are using for the gravity readings? Thanks!

Really appreciate all your videos! I have the Unibrau setup that you have and was wondering what kind of efficiency you are getting. Mine is really poor with three brews in. Thanks.

I’ve since moved to a new system but I think I would see 65-68% from memory.

Great video! Thank you so much.
    What was the water profile?
    Thanks!

With this one I believe I didn't treat the water at all behind run it through an RV filter. Have a lot more going on with water profiles in upcoming videos.

After a couple brews in how are you enjoying the Unibrau system?

    • @TheHomebrewChallenge

I'm really enjoying it. Feel that I'm getting closer to dialing in my process with the system now I have a few brews behind me.

Best beer. Not really the good one. If you want to try real hoppy czech beer you should try RADEGAST and mostly the Radegast RATAR... that one is just puuuuuure hops.
