I didn't use an Optimus Jet I just know they fit the thread is a standard cut. I only use diesel on No 12's don't fancy loosing a limb. The needles are very fine and can easily bend but well held in the brass fitting. The army are still using them they are part of every armoured vehicle!

@bows1129 This stove is made by TOC Ltd in Coventry, they can supply all spares and replacement parts.

Make sure the needle is straight and you'll have no problems. Nice to know they are still in use, cracking stove if loud. You can fit a silent Optimus burner which makes them multifuel and could burn coleman fuel; I don't mind the noise. I've used diesel but prefer paraffin, it burns cleaner and you don't need to clean the jet much if ever, I can use tanks of paraffin without needing to clean the jet. I thought the army had stopped them as the stoves are much more common than a few years ago

Ah, but you see, I'm a user and a collector. The No2 has a pitifully small fuel tank but not a bad stove when you get a good one. A big issue came with the 'updated' burners which were far worse than the original ones. I've got a couple of army No3 setups, I'll do a video on them when I can.

They won't supply any, certainly not when I checked but the jet nipple and cleaning needle is standard Optimus parts, the pump is too.

@bows1129 You need to speak to a chap called sefaudi on ebay, he makes leather pump cups for all sorts of stoves and lanterns.

I used diesel fuel here, hence the flame is not as blue as if using paraffin / kerosene.

You supprise me, your in the minority there lol. Amongst us stove collectors the No2 is considererd junk, certainly the versions with the moddified stainless steel burner cap. You don't actually need the pricker in place you can use an external pricker but so long as the pin is in straight you should have no problems. The No12 is well regarded, solid, well made and pongo proof; never heard of a vaporiser split? I've fitted a silent burner on one of mine, I'll do a video of that.

I would be very curious about this modification ... is a video of this modification available anywhere?

The stove is heavy, not for backpacking, at a guess about 3kg, super stove.

I bought spares from them no problem you just need to know which parts you want, the Optimus Jet does fit but the Jet itself is bigger so the burn won't be as blue. Also the needle fits but again isn't going to clean the jet as it should due to size variations. My advice is contact them by email: sales@toc-ltd.co.uk They also prefer to refit and test the burners themselves rather than supply spares. They can do Pumps but don't like selling Leather seal only, ..to do with fitting and testing?

      @@panama2010y Hello,
Thank you for your answer !
I checked the e-mail address again and received a read confirmation at the time ... but as I said, I received no answer 😒
It is quite frustrating when you own such an exotic piece abroad and cannot get any spare parts for it
In the end, it turns out that you opt for a different make ... which is a shame!
Many thanks and greetings from Germania

@@j.juergen1010 Hi Juergen as I said your mail may have gone to spam, who knows.
I'm not sure what you mean, we manufacture these in the UK for the British Army MoD and they are still in service, if you need spares we can supply.
      You simply need to ask.

      @@panama2010y Hello TOC,
I'm happy about the Support that you shown to me .. thanks a lot !!
Once a time ago I bought a bundle of these No 12 Cookers and at one of them the Flame Spreader is missed 😣 I don't have to explain it in particular that it is absolutely difficult to get such a part as a replacement here in Germany. Then I read in what is probably the most famous forum for Campstoves, and here in TH-cam that TOC meanwhile sold spare parts to civilians and tried my luck. In the meantime I have helped myself with an emergency solution, but on your advice I will try again to contact TOC. If you are interested ... there is a video from me - British Army No 12 runs silent with Heinze Geniol Cap -
AGAIN, thank you for your support and best regards from Germany 👍

I tried when I first got one some years ago and they wanted to know where the stove had come from and refused spares, the army has I think pretty much stopped using them so its good to see they are releasing spares. Which Optimus jet did you use, Multifuel, petrol or kerosene, alcohol? all are different sizes which will have impact on the cleaning needle. I replaced a needle in a second No12 with was bent when it arrived but works fine.
