She really was a backwater country by WW1 and even before that she had her ass handed to her by Japan on a golden plate when the Japanese Imperial Navy smashed the Russian Fleet into Oblivion. Something to this day Russia never forgot despite several regime changes. Her ground forces i believe would have been formidable in numbers but really not have been technologically advanced.

If I may conject, I think they'd get along relatively well.
Both Reichs opposed/would oppose the treaty of Versailles, grounded their ideology in patriotism and nationalism, valued traditionalism and european exceptionalism...there is definetly ideological common ground between the two. I think they'd disagree on the appropriate level of aggression in their territory expansion policies, however.

This in real life could prove very terrifying, imagine another multiverse visiting your world to siphon every knowledge your world has amassed over time in order to boost this otherworlds knowledge and military to eventually invade other worlds.
The sci-fi author H. Beam Piper wrote about that exact scenario in his 'Paratime' stories. In them, a civilization that develops cross-dimensional travel becomes, in essence, a parasitic one, adopting and/or outright stealing technology they didn't develop themselves, and stealing resources from other Earths less advanced. Anyone from those less advanced worlds who discover what is going on are either killed or enslaved.

It's just me or this concept actually could make a great spin-off show? Maybe not even Nazis, but alternate universe spies, infiltrating across different worlds, reporting and collecting information without the world's knowledge, like a sci-fi version of The Americans. I mean, shit, we could expand the whole concept of multiverse with this, going to a timeline where, I don't know, the soviets winning the Cold War (unlikely but who knows?) or one like the Grasshopper Lies Heavy of the book, where U.S and U.K. are on a Cold War, anyway, so many possibilities.

Man in the High Castle Nazis would be easily beaten if they tried to invade any world above 1950s era tech. For a start, all their forces will be concentrated at the portal chokepoint, meaning that the other side already has a massive advantage as they can just set up a line of artillery surrounding the portal and bombard anything coming out. Nukes are a nonfactor here as they’d have to actually get it through and it would soon be disabled by an artillery shell.
I really wanted to see US troops from our universe coming through the portal in MITHC, though. A lot better than a shitton of random civilians.

What if they were to open a portal to an alternate Earth with a lot more aggressive and advanced hegemony and end up getting defeated in a "7 Hour War" of sorts just like in Half-Life 2. What i could have imagined the result papers of exploration into numerous alt-history scenarios:
1. HOI4: The New Order: Last Days of Europe: "In this universe, the Reich and its allies still achieved victory in the Second Weltkrieg, however the condition of the Reich in this world is... Troubling, to say the least. Economic crises has plagued the German Order for years, four of the most powerful men in the Reich vying for succession of a dying Herr Hitler, and Herr Himmler of this world adopts a much more radical and outrageous version of National Socialism called the "Burgundian System" which also advocates for the world to be bathed in nuclear hellfire. And also not to mention that the Reich and its allies in this universe fails to conquer America and is now locked in a three-way Cold War between the Reich, the Japanese and the Americans. Universe intriguing but too volatile."
2. Wolfenstein: "This has been the most extraordinary and impressive visit that we have gone upon. Much like this universe, the Reich achieved victory in the War, but this time, it vanquished all of its enemies, including the Japanese, and effectively and literally rules over all earth. The Reich in this universe owns plentiful and very advanced and futuristic technology apparently harvested from an alternate dimension using scientific magic. Further experiments will be planned on this particular world as it is very promising."
3. Red Alert: "No words can describe the sheer complexity and insanity that is this universe. Apparently, in this universe, the Reich never exists in the first place, due to Albert Einstein travelling back in time to assassinate Herr Hitler shortly he was released from prison, resulting in two massive world wars between the US and the Western powers against the Russians. The Russians construct a time machine that they use to assassinate Einstein, leading to a Japanese Empire even more powerful than even the Japan in our universe coming into existence, leading to a three-way Fourth World War between the West, Russians and the Japanese. Further research reveal the existence of strangely very futuristic technology, mind-controlling psychics, a long-lost Romanov becoming leader of the USSR, and the president of the United States being a Robot controlled by the Japanese. It is impossible to understand or comprehend the messed and convoluted timeline and workings of this world. It is suggestible we leave this world alone."
4. Jeb Bush meme: "An American named Jeb Bush takes control of the entire universe and ruled it as an emperor. We quit."
"This is an interesting one. In this one, a Party scientist named Frederick Vought developed a serum called Compound V. This gives people super powers. And one such is a Party loyalist called Klara Risinger, who goes by the name Stormfront."

Very sad because they end series too soon. There was so much potential for another seasons...
least thing they could do is just end the series with the episode where john smith and goertzmann did the roman empire thing

The Man in HighCastle take place in a fictional would were thing are complicated and there really not good guys but shades be of grey, we might as well have fun with this idea.
@@Underworlddream Totally agree. I feel like this show got sabotaged in S4 because it went with woke nonsense tossed in and honestly like the two or three endings were all pretty dumb. The idea of the roman empire parallels, while John Smith would be the "america 1/2 restored" leader and berlin guy is like "yeah that's nice don't care go for it" and yakuza with "american restoration" on the other end. It was like they wrote a "into S5" and still filmed it that way but then added on two episodes to end it that were complete garbage.
Man in the High Castle is basically Earth X of the dc universe only outside the dc universe.
The general is right to be worried as someone has already found them and is slowly sowing the seeds of their collapse with the film tapes of other universes where they lost.
Also I could imagine them opening a portal to hell and the doom slayer is like in his mind I'll check on this one later.

I think there was poorly made Jet Li film in the 1990s with a similar concept. The villain discovered that each time he killed a version of himself from an alternate reality, he would acquire more strength and knowledge until he became essentially a "god".
Of course, Jet defeated him with good old fashioned kung fu.

The good thing about this series is that it can be restarted at any time because there would be a world where the reich won and did not know about the multiverse etc.
Some possible Doomsday scenarios.
1. The day they encounter Rick Sanchez will mark the beginning of the end of their world. Rick hates fascists.
2. They try to conquer an alternate earth but get thwarted by a mysterious man with superpowers in magenta (not pink) armor who follows them to their universe and proceeds to destroy everything they worked for. After the mystery man makes a speech about freedom and justice, they ask him "Bastard, who are you?!?" His response: "Just a passing-through Kamen Rider. Remember that."
3. They accidentally free the Anti-Monitor from his prison. Skies turn red. A Crisis event ensues.
Scientist: "Every world is now possible and that is AMAZING!"

Bioshock Infinite had them jumping into parallel worlds, some of which were more advanced technology wise. That technology was acquired and used to advance Columbia.

@303en I believe the idea is that they would lech the information from those worlds and grab tech, samples or information that they could apply to their own world thus improving there technological capabilities. Essentially they become the borg assimilating other's tech but not necessarily innovating themselves. More than likely if they discover a world that has little technological progress its likely they would try to invade it as such a world wouldn't have a large human population and have a gold mine of resources to exploit. Others like our Earth they would likely have people stealing our tech and data to allow them to get the jump on other worlds the nazi's are playing the long game by stealing other worlds data and tech they advance decades ahead. From a realistic stand point. I would say they would try to find a foot hold and from there begin the slow path to conquest by weakening the strongest adversaries.
