I've had lots of fun with KZ iems this year. The standard AS24 (no switches) sounds really good and saves enough to buy a good cable. The PR3 is better than I expected, Rhapsody is decent, Polaris is good and no quality control issues at all with any of these.
been trying my AS24 I just got... it's growing on me. I really think it's silly to say "avoid KZ" because of a one or two missteps. this is a great IEM!
After the PR2 I thought I’d not buy another KZ but I went ahead with AS24 and now the Krila is in my hands. Fortunately, the AS24 is amazing and the Krila inherits the excellent treble tuning from AS24. Try general (side switches) 0111 Auxiliary (top switches) 1000 (or 0100, it’s the same) The forward sounding is due to turning the first switch in general to 1.
@@MoontariReacts mine’s the mesh version. The treble is raw and rough overriding everything else. KZ claimed it was supposed to be easier to drive than PR1 series but it’s actually the hardest to drive from my entire iem collection.
I have bought a few kz this year. Linglong (meh), zvx, dfi and the original pr2. They have stepped their game up definitely, but then they silently changed the pr2 because the mesh was too difficult to set correctly…..which made it shouty when it was supposed to be smooth like wu heyday. Their newer single dynamics are pretty amazing though, and pr2 for $40 was a steal. Linglong is ok, but I learned im not a fan of bullet style iems with no vents as I dislike foam tips.
Thanks for the review, unfortunately KZ knows we will forgive them again since their stuff is as in this review, several time more affordable than the premium guys.
Thanks for watching! It is a shame they're currently the frontrunners when it comes to budget options but hope the chifi scene will change and more players coming in to challenge that status will "wake" KZ up and hopefully they change their ways
@@rnarexperience I think that might be happening. There are lots of nice options in the budget category now, and KZ is refining their sound to match. I got the Ling Longs and they sound quite nice and more balanced, for them, and I've ordered the ZVX's which seem to be getting high praise as well. The DFi's and Krila both seem to be well reviewed too.
the 8 switches weren't really that much of a pain... just a few to boost various frequencies. I currently am using all ON for the bass/gain panel, and 1/0/1/0 on the treble panel to give it a bit more shimmer. I doesn't get shrill like the ZS6 and Symphony can at times.
I heard that the zs12 pro x is the best one for gaming and specially for that price, you can found them in aliexpress at 40USD but i would say that as24 is a better option if youre going to use it also for music and other
I suppose, save cash for the biggwiggz, or roll the dice and take the chance. Killer deal if it workz out. Depends on what they integrate into their line up.
If only they can improve on their quality control and brand rep now because they're really digging the grave deeper if they keep going like this. We shall see with time
KZ PR2 have issues that you stated. Im just a bit confused about KZ AS24 in your disclaimer. Does it also have QC issues? Were these QC issues reported by users? I tried looking but wasnt successful. Would appreciate if anyone can confirm this. Thanks
Would you buy another KZ IEM? Comment below 👇
Nope after switching from 20$ iem to first planner kz pr2 v2 disapointend lot
Can't be bothered! Single driver final audio A5000 is insanely good so.....😅
Sure, if it sounds good for the price
absolutely....
I have 7 Kz IEM, so far none of them has any QC problem. Even the cheapest one (less than US$10) makes me happy.
Great review as always and thank you for your honest review. I've also written off KZ completely and will see until they sorted out their QC issues👍👍👍

hows the pr2?

Thanks for the suggestion! I might try that out to see how it sounds.
@@MoontariReactsit’s great if you get the original pr2 with the black mesh. It’s a full blown planar like the s12.
@@colddishhmmm mine sounds like a smooth planar (heyday p1 max). I have the black mesh. Qc?

How does the KZ AS24 vs the Orchestra Lites?
Should I get the kz zs12 pro x or get the kz as24, I will manly be using them for gaming but I do like to listen to music and podcasts.

how is it compared to aria 2?
I've never gotten a fancy metal plaque like that :( lol

Pr2 was not qc, but they changed the tuning for some unknown reason. Pr3 has qc issues, each unit can be different.
I just got into the KZ products... what did they do to make you not want to recommend them? just curious
They changed the tuning of HBB's collab set without him knowing. It's not a QC issue it was a conscious decision by KZ.

Never gone buy any KZ iem. Quality control is a joke.
I won't expect a very good quality under that price. It sounds really good at that price, must try it.
