      Ok, I was floored on Pilgrimage, on the back half when the (Reprise) brings you back around...... masterful arrangement, its like you completed a journey and can see how far you been because you can see where you started.

    It's honestly incredible how many people (myself included) were inspired by Al to pick up the bass, even if they've never touched an instrument before. You're an amazing guide through the learning process, thank you so much for your detail and patience in helping new people like me

    one of the few channels that have gotten me through 2020. Its been a rough year around here, but seeing that there is a new Beholden to the Riff Video always gets me pumped to grab my bass and tune in. Thank you.

    You are a godsend, and one of the diamonds in the alluvial filth Dostoyevsky alluded to. Al is a god too. It’s interesting how just the other day I texted my friend my list of top 5 rock and metal bassists (it’s a thing we do with everything haha), and it had none other than Mr Al C at top spot of course.

    Been looking forward to this one. Pilgrimage and God is Good (you should cover something from that one) blow me away every time I listen to them.
    Also, Could you please ELI5 how to properly tune drop D, or anything for that matter, to A=432hz. Especially for the bass, since most of explanations are for guitar. Thanks!

    • @BeholdenToTheRiff
      @BeholdenToTheRiff  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks for checking out the video🙏I’m definitely going to do a few God is Good tunes man. To get A = 432hz, google up a 432hz tone and use your ear to tune your A-string to match the 432hz tone. Then tune the bass to itself using the 5th fret method. Then tune down the Low E String so that the 12th fret (E String) matches the Open D string. Hope that helps🤘

    This may be a stupid question but what scales should we study up on to help learn om songs? I know he plays some middle eastern style scales but do you know the ones he primarily uses?

    • @BeholdenToTheRiff
      @BeholdenToTheRiff  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Great question! In the OM songs that I’ve transcribed, he mainly uses the Phrygian mode or Aeolian (Minor Scale). Hope that helps🤘
