    I love this video ! How/when did you add the outline details on everything ?

    • @katrinacrouch
      @katrinacrouch  ปีที่แล้ว

      At the very end with a waterproof ink pen (just in case I need to add more watercolor). I probably used a Micron 01 for this piece

    I’ve tried to paint loose flowers etc. but keep coming back to the more realistic styles. I very much like your paintings for that reason and guess it comes down to my nature, I’m a bit of a perfectionist so the loose style of painting just doesn’t come easily to me. I think the beautiful softness of your paintings is so nice, I enjoy watching the process of layering the colours and the end result is always worth waiting for. Thank you for your great videos. Keep them coming.

      I’m the same way-I love looking at loose florals and more organic/abstract art styles but it doesn’t flow out of my fingers! Haha
      So glad you are enjoying the tutorials!!! 💕

    I'm still very new to this but struggle with loose flowers. I love the realistic tutorial and will try and paint these for me daughter - they are her favourite flower. It's a little above my experience but you've explained things really well. I'll let you know how it turns out. Thanks for sharing x

    Great work! did you make an outline with a black pen as well?

    • @katrinacrouch
      @katrinacrouch  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes I did! A micron pen-size 01, I believe :)

    I love the realistic florals!!! I enjoy looking at them all but the skill to do realistic is incredible! I find the step by step tutorial from loose to realistic is so helpful to define how to take your piece to the next level. Thank you.

      Yes, realistic florals are difficult!! I am just now finding my happy medium that is a little easier to accomplish without being too loose 😅 watercolor is a process but sure is fun and worth the effort!

    I love this tutorial. I need to paint lilies for a new arrival and found this (now subscribed to you!). It was beautiful and then you added the fine line work - it really popped! Thank you for this - off to paint now!

      The original watercolor was actually a commission piece for a nursery! Seems to be the perfect setting for these lilies! Hah

      That's great! I have so many requests for loose florals and that's just not my comfort zone! I can do it, but it's like working against my nature so I'm thrilled that there's someone here with me! haha

      @@katrinacrouch I know this is old but I also love the realistic florals, and actually everything realistic in watercolor. It's such an opposition between the medium and the result that it fascinates me. And it's just so beautiful! I am just very shy in starting the initial sketch, maybe you can do a little bit more about realism with watercolors and how you "tackle" the realistic sketch? If you did already and I have not seen it, please ignore my request. 😇 But overall, I love your work and your channel.

    I love the more realistic style, but am new to painting and thinking that the more modern would be easier. Your paintings are gorgeous and I’ve learned a lot from watching just a couple of tutorials

    • @katrinacrouch
      @katrinacrouch  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I started out with modern and loose myself and now I (mostly) prefer realistic! But it took a while to get here, hah
      Both are great though and fun to work in

    This stargazer lily looks like you could pick it up off the paper and carry it home! You are an amazing painter and I’m looking forward to more tutorials from you. You asked if we like the looser watercolors or more realistic. I paint in the looser format,but the realistic is just awesome too!

    Realistic is more challenging and beautiful when the mood strikes ( to look at in my case) but a more modern approach is so very happy. I will take both.
