Great to hear! I thought about mixing it up a bit and getting a closer shot at an angle (side), but this way you can see more clearly how often I’m reaching for different colors, so I thought i would try this first ☺️ Thank you for the feedback!! 💕
Really liked this video. I love painting flowers and I'm trying to find some middle ground between loose and botanical - something that shows the unique qualities of watercolours. I especially liked how you used a mix of soft blending and then let some hard edges form naturally - a very nice effect that you just cannot get with other media. You demonstrated the process you use really well. Also, thanks for not adding on background music!
That has been my goal too but my default lately has been more towards realism, hah! But I always go back to loose and modern when I’m warming up or making something quick-it’s so lovely and expressive
I agree and liked the previous comments. I am also looking for that middle ground between loose and spending hours on detail. It was a great angle to see both your brushwork and color mixing. Thank you for sharing.
So glad to hear! I was afraid it might be too far away to see everything but I will keep trying this angle since it seems to be working ☺️ Thank you for the feedback!!
Excellent video. Thanks for sharing the paint you are using. All too often that is done at the end. You work is great. I needed the help about mixing color. Nice angles of the camera allowed me to see you paint as you went along. Very clear demonstration.
Thank you for the feedback! I will continue to use this style in the future-it’s definitely more vulnerable feeling for me for some reason, haha, but the goal is to help ☺️
Thank you! This was great. I have your drawing lessons and plan on watching them this week. I didn't expect the video, it was a great surprise. Sharing your pallet is a great help and I think the video explained enough and had a nice pace.
Wonderful! I strongly believe that the drawing tutorials are the best place to start-watercolor in general is so much easier if you can grow in those skills! I look forward to hearing what you think of those videos too! :)
Would love to hear your thoughts on this video style? I'm trying to share my color mixing as well as the whole process rather than just some highlights like I have done in the past. Thank you :)
Yes, very helpful. I am teaching myself watercolor and your videos are extremely helpful. I focus mostly on florals in a style somewhere between botanical and loose. I love this tutorial!
Love your demo! Would you please include a version that is in real time? I'm trying to mimic what you're doing with every stroke and when the video is sped up, it's too hard to do it along with you. Thanks so much.
Hello, Sorry if this has been answered within the video but, the drawing/outline that you paint... Is there a stencil (or something of that form) you use for this? Or do you have a link for us to download the lily outline to then paint... or a link for is to follow to draw, before using this video and part 2 to add the watercolours? I hope that makes sense (?)
You make perfect sense!! I know a lot of illustrators and teachers provide outlines for their watercolor students, but my experience as a professional AND as a teacher have shown me that it is super important to learn to draw as you learn to paint! You learn to see and understand SO MUCH as you learn to draw, and this will make you an even better artist. I am super passionate about giving you the tools/techniques need to do any kind of art, and that’s why I don’t include the line drawings. BUT! If you need help in this area (Drawing), I have a free mini course you can take to jump start your growth ☺️ www.blusheddesign.com/flower-drawing
Dear Katrina, I love love your tutorials. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your beautiful art. Hugs to you. Katrina, which is the tutorial for drawing. I need it bad. 💙❤💜🧡♥️Sherie Rodrigues
Excellent. I like the angle the video was shot at because it was easy to watch how the piece was created.

I liked it. Good video. I did particularly enjoy the color mixing portion. I’d suggest you do more of that. Thank you.
Thank you for the feedback, Paul! I will definitely include the color mixing on more of my tutorials-maybe a dedicated color series someday

Oh thank you!! 🥰🥰🥰
EXCELLENT video. Thank you

Hi Lauren! I will try to do that in a future video! I’m so slow that I worry about people getting bored! Haha, but since you asked, I will try it ☺️
It looks very delicate and sweet flower. Love the leaves. Cool art!
Thank you! It is for a nursery, so I wanted to keep it pretty delicate ☺️
Just recently discovered your channel, and love it! New sub. 👍💕
So glad you’re enjoying it!! Let me know if there is anything specific that you would like to see in the future ☺️

So glad you’re enjoying them!! You can find the tutorials at: www.BlushedDesign.com/flower-drawing
I cant wait to start my stargazer lily. What brush size did you use? thank you.
Probably a 6 or 8 round. Those were my favorites at the time of filming this so almost everything I did was in either of those two sizes
@@katrinacrouch Thank you!!!
Thank you so much! Just gorgeous. 😊💕
You are so welcome!
Where can you get the pencil sketch for the flower first?
I drew it. If you need help with your drawing skills/confidence, you can take my free mini course here: www.BlushedDesign.com/flower-drawing
