I always buy mechanical keyboards in this price range or less, the red switches are probably just something unbranded from china and the rgb isn't true rgb, its 20 set modes to choose from so thats why the program won't work. True rgb keyboards often cost a lot more and I don't think its worth it, so long as its backlit I'm happy. I think the keyboard came out in Oct 2024.
i was using a keyboard called a Drevo which i think is also Chinese, used otemu brown switches, but had fully controllable RGB through an app called power console. the only downsides to that keyboard was the no hot swappable switches and the enter and space stabilisers used to rattle
@@TheBuildBench I just noticed that I can see in the video that they are maybe Jixian switches. Its really hard to see but the logo writing looks similar to my current Jixian switches. I'm waiting for the keyboard in video. I think the best place to find information on those would be aliexpress. I never checked before but its likely those have been in all my other cheap oem chinese mechanical keyboards. Ive no complaints for the price (they always last me years) and funk paying 100's for a keyboard. We can also just buy whatever switches we like since its hotswappable.
@@magpie4043 i mean if they are a cheaper Chinese switch, then they feel really nice to be honest. I'm used to using brown switches but i really like the red ones with this board. Like you said though, you could swap them to whatever, Ill be honest ive never tried really high end switches, but i cannot see how they can be much better really.
i got the keyboard myself. few issues i have with it: mystic light or any other rgb software doesnt work. you only have the rgb modes that the keyboard gives. the multimedia buttons dont work sometimes like they should. doesnt work as forward and just changes the light for some reason. still solid keyboard for 35-40 edit: steelseries software doesnt work either to change lightning. at least not steelseries gg.
i cant even install mystic light, MSI programs are trash and yeah i couldnt get steelseries to work, i read a post on reddit saying it does though. but i agree, all in all its a solid keyboard, i like the red switches they have used
